I think that Z1R's make an excellent platform for a streetfighter. Unfortunately, due to their value, most of the rivet counters won't allow for modifications. The angular body work is a natural. Kinda like the Spondon bike that has been making the rounds on the internet. I can't wait to see it come together. Are you planning on documenting your build here or elsewhere?

maybe the pix's don't show it but
it's a z1100r lawson rep not a z1r
though i guess they both could be called z1r's
if you see that i mean.
got a slightly modded green one too.
just wanted to build a scruffy yoshie type superbike for
sunny day's(few and far between in scotland just now!)

Oopsies. It was early over here, my coffee hadn't kicked in yet. Upon further review that isn't a Z1R tank. Cool project in any case. Start a project thread and I'll watch.

No idea how I missed this thread, but thanks for bumping. Definitely like the restofighter KZs. And some familiar bikes and posters here.

Let's see more!

I built this bike years ago using a complete POS donor heap and a lot of eBay purchases. Hasn't changed much, but I'm not willing to call it finished. The seat needs a style and comfort upgrade for certain.

'75 Z1 with Wiseco 1015 kit, mild head port, cams, Mikuni 34s. Stiffened frame, '89 ZX7 front end, '90 ZX11 wheels and brakes, custom swingarm 1" over.

Just saw this thread!

My buddy Devin's bike qualifies.

It's been posted on here before, but seems pertinent. Points deducted for Gixxer front end? Not Kawi, but sweet.

We built this one with a Ninja front end, if that counts...

Awhile back when i started looking for a bike I found a 1300 on Craigslist in Lima Oh that had lots of newer parts on it. Like the forks were from a Ninja etc. It was wicked looking!
I almost bought it but the guy came through with the B4 that I really wanted. If anyone knows about this bike I'd like to find it.
It was all black.
