I've been looking at that humpbacked railroad crossing for awhile now with the idea of jumping it at ~90 mph, but the problem is the brick wall that's around 200-300 yards past the hump, not a lot of room to shut down in
I figure at 90 I can get maybe 25' of air, don't even want to think about 140 :woohoo:

Now that I've got all the little kinks ironed out of the 650, I think I'll give her a try next summer to see how fast SHE'LL go. I've read various reports but all seem to be in the actual 110 - 115MPH range. That's FAST for a 650....but we'll see.

the best race i ever had was against a zl1000 eliminator on my 1170,went on for 15-20 miles!!!!!!!! we would slow down for a couple miles and go right back at it!!!!!!! ah youth:PI thought this would be an interesting thread. Not to promote high speeds on motorcycles but just curious how fast you guys have gone on a bike? What kind of bike was it?
Back in my younger days i got up to around 135-140mph on a 1985 Kawasaki Eliminator. I was 19 years old and worked at a Kawasaki dealership. Kawasaki was trying to promote the Eliminator and offered "test drives". The bike was advertised to go 0-60 in 2.2 seconds! I think you were given a free shirt or something for riding it. Anyway, I asked my boss if I could take it for a ride. I took it easy at first but got on it good near the end of my ride. It was a lot of fun and to this day would love to own one!!
Let's hear your story!
Still recovering, some days are better than others.

K J , of the bikes you own,(a nice list of bikes) which is the fastest? Someone told me that my bike would do 180, but I'll never know!
I need to update my list. I sold the ZRX and the Z1R a while back. The ZX14 is by far the quickest and fastest, especially with the mods that make 190 hp to the ground. True speed would be over 195mph derestricted. Second would be the CBR954 clocking a real 174mph. The Z1r with 1200cc and a list of mods could do 165mph over 12,000rpm with race fuel and timing bumped up. Third was the ZRX1200 which topped 147mph stock. The 77LTD has not seen over 70mph and never will as long as she lives here. These are GPS speeds not speedo indications.
Honest truth, a loose, stock KZ1000 will almost touch 130mph real speed with stock gearing. I have never seen one pull redline in top gear either.Dont believe anything else unless it is modded.
