I've got my 4 good ones plus hard to count KZ650 parts bikes, 2 SRs, 2 77 KZ650B, a couple 78B, A 78 650c, a couple 79Bs, plus remnants sitting in the yard from others. Now guy's look through the pictures posted and tell me the repainted, modified ones look better than the originals? Don't think so. Those are my parts bikes since they are unusable thanks to the paint. The Yamaha 650 looks great I'll have to say.
Ron, I understand you are expressing your opinion, but isn't it just a tad unreasonable to expect everyone to hold the same opinion as you do??
I appreciate a good looking modified bike more than I do a stocker, all it takes to own a stock bike is money, it takes a lot of work to modify a bike to suit my own tastes. I think a whole lot more of a person that devotes their time and energy into modifying a bike to suit them, than I do of someone that just writes a check to purchase what they want.
I'll adapt a bike to suit me, I will not adapt to suit a bike.
The day that everyone here holds the same opinions as me, is the last day I will be here.
Even this bike will probably end up modified

Z1rick: didn't I just send you some parts? (mr-spok) ...you don't need anymore deals, gimme one o' them bikes!
steell: couldn't agree more...probably 'cause I can't leave anything alone! :woohoo: ...an 1105 in a 650???...that's cheatin'...I like the way you think!
Gringo: that bike is plain-ass cool. Brilliant idea with the exhaust. Very clean bike. I raise my glass.
rstnick: you did a cool story, and an amazing transformation: sweet! I like the Road Warrior look.
OnkelB for being a simple bike that thing sure is cool. Well done.
The bikes rock...keep 'em coming.
PS> That turbo is a cherry. I had a roached-out green spray bombed one that I used to flog the crap out of...bullet-proof little rocket...miss that ugly thing now!:silly:

To the untrained eye the bike looks stock but Kz enthusiasts will notice the changes.
At 175 lbs and 5'11 the 650 platform is perfect for my size, that's why I ride this middleweight with a heavyweight punch.
BTW, the brake calipers have since been painted semi-gloss black similar to the factory paint.

I don't like the feel on using the passenger pegs, never did. Too far back.
The GSXR pegs suit the clubman bars I have to a T.
My boys think it's comfy too!

I'd use it to do almost exactly what you've done to yours, barring the 810 kit. I may put a 750 top end on it just for larfs.....IF I can convince the guy to part with it for a reasonable price AND if I can find space for it AND if I can keep SWMBO from noticing the additional bulging of the garden shed walls.:laugh:
For Bad Kaw, I'm not going to post the pic of my totally stock C2 with only ~2000 miles on it cuz that's not what you're about....right ??
How about an H2A with 650D1 front end, lengthened D1 swingarm and Lesters from a Z1 ?? Does that deserve an honourable mention??

Been riding 42 years. I've forgotten half the bikes I've owned but, the Kz 650 is by far my favorite. Mine is now happily residing in Costa Rica where I keep it for transportaion whenever I go there.
