1983 KZ1000R2 Project

I bought an 1983 KZ10000R2 project from a childhood friend.
I've been bugging him to buy this bike for the last 20 years.
He's done nothing to it since he bought her.
She has 55 K KMs on her.
I have the stock air box, which will be going back on.

   

       

I've been doing a lot of cleaning, and making a list of missing or needed items.
The battery box and parts of the frame have recieved one coat of touch up paint.
The air box has been cleaned, and is ready to go back on.


 

A previous owner had a big piece of Duct tape accross the gauges.
When I removed the tape, it left lots of glue: 



Some Goo Gone, and a plastic scraper got it to look much better:



I stopped by another friends garage, and he had some bodywork and a front master cylinder from a project he had a few years back that I bought:
I will likely have the spare set painted at some point, and keep the original pieces as is.



Also placed an order from Z1Enterprises and my local Dealer for some parts:

I'd like to stumble into one of those...actually, I have truly lusted over the 1984 KZ1100R1.

Another great project Rob, a friend of mine had a 1000R in white with red and blue stripes new back in the day (I love that colour scheme )
