Didn't mean to infer conformist Joe, don't think anyone here is. Trending Scenario meaning persons that have lived with these since childhood, like You, sell off their collection due to differing circumstances. ONLY to come back at a later date and start all over again with different but the same brand. I've known a local fella that has the Kawasaki Triples since highschool. Over the 40yrs ive known him he's amassed collections 3 times only to "dump" them when he just felt it was the time. He's going thru one of those phases now, couple H1's and a H2. Ohh, he'll be back..again. Unfortunately next go-round he might be too old to be able to kick-start them, haha

We're all guilty of it. Here's my old 1974 Z1 back in 1998. Had about 25KUSD in it, sold it to a friend for 6. And a couple of my mentioned Buddies triples i'd restored, long gone now, went back to the homeland of Japan. And YES Wookie!! Quad"tripled", ha.

NICE bikes,..and good story about,..most of us have had some similar adventures
Had this `74 Z1A in `90/91,..after build it up with rare original parts like body-paint kit and exhaust, i´ve sold it 6 month later to buy a 750 sport Guzzi..

Say it ain't soo Joe! Not the Italian CX Honda, Ha. Funny that You mentioned that though! Had a friend in High School, i had a Z1R 1978 he had his dad's Guzzi. His dad used to be a motorcycle cop and what did he scoot around on..a Guzzi. Thinking it was one of the California ones's. Regardless, him and i would take road trips together, no destination just Went. We would trade saddles along the way. I think he lost his puberty on my 1000, just couldn't believe the difference, ha. I did sterilize the seat before i regained control my machine. He..followed his Fathers path and too became a motorcycle clad policeman. Thinking he probably, at the time was riding a J model then they went to the now defunct Victorys then to HD.

Ahhh, don't mention a LeMans 1 or V7 Sport in the same breath as a CX500 (that manure pump). Italian bikes such as Ducati Bevel, Laverda Jota and Guzzi Le Mans are beautiful and easy to ride motorcycles. - But no matter, I had them all and always ended up with Z900 or Z1000.
And just to add: From the perspective as an mechanic and the machine engineering, these old Kwaka engines are good to handle and wrench on it, no bad miracles or negative magic, solid and reliable machines, i like them a lot, nice to see at, fine to ride , gives me allways a fat grin, while i ride them!
( and sorry for my bad english here...!)

09 Jan 2025 06:56Your English is far better than most of our German funny how we make references to agricultural machinery when describing other brands, I always used to refer to a "certain V-Twin" as a "Milwaukee ditch pump"Ahhh, don't mention a LeMans 1 or V7 Sport in the same breath as a CX500 (that manure pump). Actually, it's all nonsense to give derogatory names to motorcycles or things we don't like that much. Everyone just has different tastes and styles....But...
