Looking forward to seeing the "blundering" :)

Is that like the fact that it takes 3 times to get anything right, no matter how good you think you are.

I am glad my misery has a lot of company!  I just wish there was more time in the day to get work done…

Welp, the first thing I had to do was to take it all apart, because, um, you know,                                                                            because.

Next I figgered some better suspenders were in order. First, my buddy that I bought them from offered me a GS1100 swingarm that he had saved for a three-wheeler project that he had lost interest in. I decided to have it modified to take KZ style shocks, because, you know, because. I then ordered these--

Clearly, something had to be done with those wet-noodle LTD forks. I reckon some 90 wight oil could have done the trick, but why bother with simple and cheap when I could spend a pile of money on something much more complicated, like the forks, triple clamps, stem, handlebars, wheels and complete brake system from a 1995 GPz1100?

I am sure some of you wise guys are thinking, well, with that wider rear wheel and the 530 rear sprocket, sumpin aint gonna work so well at the output shaft end of things. If you look closely in the last picture, you may see a front sprocket from and early 1100 Ninja that seems to solve the chain pitch and offset difficulties.

That's the spirit, why do. easy ?  how many teeth on that front sprocket (I am running 18/46 which should give me 70mph cruising at around 4500rpm) with a 17" wheel

You could always go old school and use spoked wheels. Dig those wild colors! The gold anodized  Sun rims would match your Ohlins. Me back in 1999.

I could buy a Wiseco/Wossner piston set, pay for the boring and probably still not have dollars left over compared to the cost of a set of those shocks, ha. Rolf..just noticed You hail from Norway?

Hmmm. With some gold spray paint, some hot glue and wire hangers, I could modify the GPz wheels so they can identify as Sun rims and spoked wheels……
