What a challenge !! Keeps the old grey matter working. Just shows how many rubber and plastic components break down. Great work Guy, and really looking forward to the ride reports, I know you will be .

Head up, Guy, you´re on the right way...! Sounds like, you´ve found the mistake and errors, congrats! Sometimes, things will need a lot of patience... :-)

Hey Guy,
Congratulations on getting the beast fired up.  And bummer about the carb boots.  It's getting hard to find decent parts these days, and these cracking boots are case in point!  Hope you get it sorted fast!  If all of them cracked, I'd be loath to use more of the same.

Thanks Ed, that pick-up issue had taken my normally pragmatic approach to things and blown it to bits. I have been doing this stuff a long time and it just didn't make sense. Still the lessons learnt hardest are the ones you remember the longest, I guess it's all part of "the rich tapestry" which is building "one offs". With regards the boots, I spoke to the supplier this morning and he was "top drawer" (Z-Power UK) He is sending me out OEM boots less the cost of the originals and has also discounted the price of the upgrade to OEM for the inconvenience. Can't ask any more than that :)

They are top blokes, dealt with them a few times, Shame Brexit has buggered the shipping, have to use a mate as a 'courier' now. He's good though, from Stoke so....need I say more. UK readers will understand that
