Great job, stickers are the finishing touch.
Total package is top notch.
If it runs as good as it looks you'll be okay

GREAT LOOKING BIKE. Hope you get your carb issues straightened out. How was the gas tank painted ? Spray can, professionally or with a gun and what color silver is that ? Let me know whats up with those carbs. Mine have vacuum hook up but I have not done enough research to know what they're for as there are no adjustments other than the throttle cable tuning. please keep us informed. Thanks again, jon

Ive been busy farting around with the carbs, trying to get them set up.Posted about it here
www.kzrider.com/forum/3-carburetor/60495...-the-dark-arts-carbs
In a nutshell,I reassembled the jet needle the wrong way (Thanks Nessism). Once sorted, the bike went Brmmmmmmmmm through the whole range and I was able to take it for a run round the block.
A few things became obvious right away. First the clutch is not right.I fiddled with some spacers and have had it at both extremes. Bike creeping forward with the clutch lever pulled in, to, bike not moving at all once clutch lever is fully released. I have to find a middle point in there somewhere.
Front brakes are not braking with any enthusiasum.Got to look into that.Back brakes arent too great either.
Though the bike is running, the carburetion isnt right yet.Still a way to go with that.
The bike is WAY too low. The first bump I hit peeled a nice layer of chrome off the bottom of the pipes.Got to look into Zed1015s damper rod extension and maybe also some fork extenders.
I cant give it a good blast yet as nothing is torqued down, everything needs a final tweek but for sure it looks the bees knees sitting outside the house in the daylight.

I think you should be carreful on your first rides.
After starting it yesterday and checking the brakes and clutch I told my wife that I wanted to take it down the street.
She wisefully told me not to. 5 minutkes later i found out that i did not attach the rear brake yet....
If I had taken that ride and hit the raer brake it would have messed up the whole rear end.
So checking every bolt and nut 3 times, torque and blue locktide before my first ride :-)
(And I have no idea what a Suzuki front on an old Kawa will do with the handeling)

Yup,started it up today and realized the exhaust down pipes werent tightened up.I think tomorrow will be a day for checking and double checking everything.
I played with the clutch spacing today and got it a bit better, though it still feels very heavy at the lever and it dosnt want to go into neutral. If it is down to the spacing, its only a matter of 1mm which I find hard to believe.Ill go on with it tomorrow.
I also played a bit more with the carbs. I took out the washers from the jet needles and reset the mixture screw about 1 1/2 turns out. If the weather is ok,Ill take it out for a bimble tomorrow.See how it runs.

Nice Job DavidO! That is classy! Simple, newer upgrades! Not overkill! Just right!
Plus it's got 2 rear shocks! I am not a mono-shock fan at all.

Went thru 25 of these in 40 yrs.

Thanks z1kzonly,glad you like it. Ive no problem with mono-shocks but keeping it twin was easier and cheaper.I like the yss shocks as well and they werent too expensive.
I spent some time going through the nuts and bolts today. I think Ive got everything tightened up enough (No torque wrench). I did discover a bit of fluid on the left hand front brake caliper.Dont know if its weeping or maybe just some residue from the bleeding. I also noticed a bit of incontinence by the clutch push rod.I think its time to pull the clutch apart and see what its looking like.
I took it out for a short run this aftrenoon and noticed that the oil light comes on at idle but goes out as the revs rise! Anybody got an opinion on that?
I also banged the exhaust again, going over a bump!!!!! I took some nice pictures though.

All I can comment on so far, is at low speed.,It does seem to turn into the corners nicely but the most noticable thing is how the exhaust hits on any kind of raise in the road!! There was a guy from Rotterdam that makes fork extensions for upsy dupsy forks. He used to advertise on Marktplaats but I cant find him anymore

I know a local guy that might be able to make something similar.Ill go talk to him this week.
