Thanks for the offer Eric. I might take you up on it.I have been playing with the other swingarm that arrived a couple of days ago.
I thought Id ordered the same swingarm but it turns out to be a different model/year(?)
A bit longer as you can see but it has a different casting by the bridge,not as thick,which is good news. I put it on the bike and got this
This is just free standing,without rider weight.Not a lot but it is a good bit more clearance than the other one.
So,Im still thinking. Ill put both of them on the table tomorrow and take some accurate measurements,then take it from there. If i cant find some sort of joy and happiness from either of these,I might need some measurements from your bridge,Eric. Ill let you know.
Anyway,not letting this get in the way of the rest of the build,here are the carb tops and tails that wouldnt anodise.
Today, I painted the starter motor.
and put some Plasticoat on the inside of the plastics
Thats it.

makin some nice progress :evil:
seeing some clearance with the new arm had to be encouraging
it does look as tho the arm wiers has offered would gain you even more clearance tho if you find it needed.
keep us posted man,
leon

The swingarm is on the back boiler for now. The family is off for the holidays so the back bedroom has now become a paint booth. Ive got from now til new years eve to get the tank,tail and mudguard painted and clearcoated, get the back bedroom cleaned up and the smell out of the house!!
I spent a couple of days ...............Polishing! Aaaargh!!!!!!! It goes aginst everything I want for this bike but it was the cheapest/easiest solution to clean up the side cases. From this;
To this;
Im still looking for another, non shiny,solution but this will have to do for now.

Too nice Leon. I just wanted to clean them up and get rid of the worst of the scratches,not have them gleaming. Too shiny shiny.

Latest update. Ive spent the last week messing around with the paint. Of course,I did it arse around backwards and started before I had a definate,final decision on the colour scheme!!
Anyway.Its done now and Im busy with the (spray max 2k) clear coat.Im typing this as I wait for the tack coat to go off a bit.
To be honest, I cant say Im over the moon with the colours and design. I think I faffed around too much and made things way too difficult for myself. I should have stuck to a single solid colour but what is done is done.I cant go back now. Onward and upward,get the buggers done and on the bike.
I also got the master cylinders stipped and rebuilt with new springs and seals etc, so ,theyre ready to go on. Still wiating on the jets.

Thank you Boyracer. You win the 'Medal of Perseverance 2016' and as a reward, heres a bit of titillation.The final colour scheme revealed;
Love it or loath it boys and girls, this is it.
I still have to sand and polish and fit the logos but the family is back tomorrow so Ive run out of time.I have a back bedroom/paint booth to break down and a house to clean etc. So,thats it for 2016.
I didnt make my deadline. Still waiting on the jets and the HT cables. I stripped a thread,fitting the alternator cover and I cant find the gaskets for the petcock and the fuel level sensor but on the plus side I ordered a Moriwaki points cover as a christmas present to myself from the family (havent told them yet)
Thats it. Happy spannering to one and all and heres looking forward to and end to the CSR1000 Project Build in early 2017.
