Thanks Leon. Next thing is to get the tail light mounted. I bought a bit of 4mm alu plate to form a mount. I want to get the ZXR light tucked in nice and tidy.Ive also got to weld on something to fix the tailpiece down to the frame. Thatll be my weekend.

A couple of tabs welded on to bolt the seat down to

I didnt have enough room to fit the tail light and mount ,nicely under the tailpiece ,so, I had to whack the back hoop off again and shorten it even more..Also I shifted the mounting plate from under the hoop to over the hoop so I can get the tail light tucked in with the minimum of gaps.Unfortunately, with all the grinding and welding,I really thinned the steel on the hoop in places to the extent that I was blowing holes in it as I tacked it up.
Off to my local friendly bike shop again,to get the damage assessed..The result was a 2mm steel plate welded over the bottom of the hoop.

That should keep it from getting too wobbley.
I think (hope)thats it now for the welding. The frame is as ready as its going to be.Tail light mount and the number plate mount are next. Ive got some alu plate downstairsand ,hopefully,I can get that sorted tomorrow.

Alu plate for the Tail light mount.

Knocked up a bendy machine

If I was to do it again,I would make a shallow cut on the inside of the bend to get a sharper 90 degree angle. They all came out a bit rounded. Live and learn.

Heres the bike as it stands now.The lower part of alu plate will be cut back and bent out to hold the number plate.

Well Im just playing here really.Im not sure what I want to do. The tail light mount didnt turn of as i expected but I thought It was ok and itll do.Now Im in 2 minds.Ive bought another piece of alu plate and I think Ill have another go at it.If I cut into it,opposite the bends,I should be able to get a sharper bend on it.I hope.
Also had a go at a making headlight mount. The original wont fit on the ZXR front

So I bought some pipe hangers from the local plumming shop

I bent some steel bar ,threaded the ends and welded a couple of washers into it

and came up with this

Dont know if iI like them or not.I think theyre a bit too big so I might trimm them down a bit and look again.

OK,I couldnt live with the tail light hanger,so, I had another go
New on on the left, old one on the right

I cut a 1mm slot on the inside of the bends which made them sharper

It looks a lot cleaner alround now.

I also ordered some new brake hoses today.
