jmoney,
typically the kz axle is smaller than the axle hole in usd front ends.
so i machine out adapter/spacers so the id fits the kz axle and the od fits the usd axle hole.

Leon,
Does your axle thread into your adaptors? Or rather how does it stay put? Also how did you go about centering the wheel, and one more, any issues with clearing the header pipes during suspension travel ?

Looking for a nice smaller headlamp and ways for mounting it, then I can work on wiring the gsxr controls, also I'm not sure if I am going to use the gsxr ignition as it is huge and ugly, may end up cutting it off with a port a band like Leon said. Then just use the stock ignition in a different location.

jmoney,
yessir the side that i pictured is threaded for the r1 axle that i used and then as you can see the forkleg lower clamps it.i machined an adapter for the other side as well as custom spacers to center it.the opposite side got a split so that it also clamps the axle as the forkleg lower on that side also clamps.
hth,
leon
p.s.
the pictured frontend is an 05 gsxr with a 2000 r1 front wheel adapted in.i am still in the process of making the r1 rotors play nice with the monoblock calipers of the gixxer.i will not have header interference as i will either build an upper triple or fork extensions to negate that issue.

Where did you get the throttle tube?

Are you running the throttle assembly from a gsxr or is it the stock kz650 unit?

I made a new front axle which will allow me to use my stock wheel. Material is 304 stainless.
I will make some spacers to center the wheel next.
