What holds the side number plates on? are they just bolted to the seat?

Yes they are. The same way DesRoche did on their MK II's. Cheap, and it works. Plus when I rode the bike on the street, Remove four 6mm bolts, and they are gone!!!

The person that was going to help me get my bikes to the VJMC show this weekend just backed out of the deal. Come hell or high water, I am going to make that show even if I have to push my bikes the 3 miles to the show!!!!

I failed the treadmill tests. I might be looking at open heart surgery in the near future. Will know more when I see my doctor next week!!! What else can happen to me!!!

Every time I check in and read the head line "better than nothing" I think man that would be about the same as winning the lotto and then saying o well better than nothing  ...... a real beauty that is gonna take the show by storm. ;)

I always liked the way Roger Penske's cars looked, meticulously prepared, and not a spot of dirt anywhere!!!!

I may have not been the fastest rider at the track, but I always had some of the cleanest looking bikes. The tech people always told me how they enjoyed teching my bikes, and not having to worry about getting a tetanus shot after touching my bike. You would not believe how filthy some people's race bikes were. I would be ashamed to ride some of those bikes on the street let alone bring them to the track.

Do you have anything around the holes to stop the seat tearing?

Even after drilling the holes through the seat pan, and seat cover back in 1979, the seat cover holes have not torn or gotten any bigger. I do put the 6mm bolts and 1 inch washers back in place when I make the bike "street legal"

I entered both my KZ1000 Superbike, and my RG500 in the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club's bike show at Star Island Motorsports. When I got there it was pouring rain, and it did not look like anything was going to happen on Saturday!!! Finally it cleared up and the sun came out by 11.00 or so. It turned out to be a pretty nice day after all. Both bikes received a lot of attention from the attendees of the show. I got to meet one KZR member, I think it was AZ RIDER???? It was great to meet a fellow KZR member.

Unfortunately the voting did not turn out so good for my Superbike as it did for my RG500. The RG500 swept the Best Suzuki built after 1975 class. The Superbike got beat by a Kawasaki F21M motocross bike. That really sucks in my book. Well 1 out of 2 ain't really that bad I guess.

I told the people from VJMC that I hope they don't get any nasty emails from any KZR members about me not winning anything with my KZ1000!!!

I think this is the sucker that beat me!!!
