It's been a painfully long two years since I've heard her purr... And the anticipation is getting to me! I'm hoping within two weeks I'll have it on the road again :) The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter!

Exactly Leon! This is the last BIG thing that has to get done, then she gets pieced back together. The hardest part from here is going to be wiring in the dyna and the speedo unit. So close....

I talked with my one buddy who works at the shop I get my stuff powdercoated at, and he said the frame and miscellaneous bits should be ready for pick up tomorrow or Friday! I'm getting antsy to get the bike back on the road... One... step... closer...

Excited for you Devin, Don't forget to post some pics of the powder coated goodies when you get them back. You may also have to spend some time reaming hole and cleaning out threads.

Thanks Kaw. When I dropped the frame and bits off, I had all the openings and threads taped off, and asked them to put some high temp tape in/on anything that I had taped. My buddy sent pics yesterday to show me what they'd done so far, and she was all prepped and taped off :) i'll do a once over on things for sure, but I should be good in that department. And I will for sure, don't you worry one bit ;) I have a feeling the thing that's going to take the longest after this will be wiring in the Acewell speedo cluster and the dyna ignition. But it should all come together in a few days time :)

So Christmas came in July. .. I got to pick up the frame and other parts from the powder coating shop yesterday! And I'm super happy with how all the parts turned out! The shop even masked off my steering stem so my bearing races got saved, I think I had the biggest smile on my face ever, and my buddy was really happy with the results as well. Anyways, enough of that, and on to the pictures! Everything came out perfectly, and with a mirror finish! For $400 blasted, primed and baked, i'm not complaining.

How gorgeous is all of that? I'm in the process right now of polishing all of my aluminum, then putting Liquid Glass on it. And then doing the same for my painted stuff. For anyone that hasn't heard of/used this stuff- I HIGHLY recommend you look into it. It's basically a clear coat that can go over paint, polished aluminum, chrome... And it doesn't let any oxidizing occur. This is my first time using it, but I'm already loving what I'm seeing. You can apply multiple coats over paint, and the more you apply, the more the paint colour jumps out (especially with metalflake/pearl coats).

Update on the reassembly will go up as I make progress. My goal for the end of the day is to have it a roller with the engine potentially in.

Alright so I got the wheels on and the engine in. Wiring harness is strung. And I'm just about to wire in the new Acewell speedo/tach unit. I have a question though- there's a few wires on the KZ wiring harness that I won't be able to use anymore (brake light fault, and a brown wire that hooks up to the neutral, brake, and high beam light). The question I have is whether or not this will affect anything in the wiring harness once I have the new speedo in. As in- with the new speedo in, and the old wires being "dead ends", will this cause any issues?

Progress that was made yesterday included this, as well as getting the wiring harness strung/labeling wire ends before I start to cut and splice in the new gauge.

I'm hoping to have the harness fully installed, the gauge in, and potentially my turn signals spliced in by the end of the day. I might be able to do an electronics shake down (fingers crossed) as well.
