an electronic arc is an electronic arc,er70s-2 filler wire is er70s-2 filler wire whether it is on a mig roll or in straight sticks.as long as the welding is done by someone that knows what there doing you are just fine.

yours looks good.

I wouldn't say I'm a great welder, but I get by. I've been using SEW since I was a kid. Mostly GMAW now and a little GTAW at work. I had an intense welding class in college. But that was a life time ago.

Got some of the bracing complete. It was raining (what's new) so I had to weld in the garage. It's a lot harder without natural light, and crappy vision. I'm happy with the welds that will show. Those tube braces under the tank were a bear.

Next up the cross braces fore and aft of the motor. Placement look ok? Might wait to weld the aft brace until I pick up the swing arm on Tuesday (Yeah!!).

You might want to raise the rear one up higher, check battery box location before welding it in B)

Picked up my newer parts today. 05 zx10r wheels with brakes and masters, forks, swingarm, clip ons and rear sets. Swingarm and rear wheel are probably a no go. Dont think I want to go the distance on frame revision to make it work with a 6" wheel. They were just a bonus in the package anyways. The rear sets look like they bolt right on after reaming up the mounting holes, but will require a closer look. Left appears to interfere with the kick stand. Got no triple clamps, but I think I'll just make those anyways. Slabs of aluminum with precision holes are kind of my specialty. Doubt the clip ons will be of much use either, will have to see. Someone cut off the foot pegs, but I think I have a pair that will fit. Why you would want 2" long pegs is beyond me.

Can't decide where that rear brace needs to sit. Up much more and it interferes with the battery box. Lower I have to worry aboout the chain. Guess it's going to float for a while.

if you decide you want a narrower wheel you might consider an 05/06 zx6/636 wheel to get a lil narrower but still match the front.

I'm going to take a hard look at the set up before I ditch the rear wheel. Maybe look at mono shock too. Aaahhhh, too many decisions.

Roughly 9.087" with the spacers and without the brake mount. 9.875" between the swingarm. Could shave the bearing spacers to get another ~0.300".

if u can get the rim in there, u can run 180 tire on it if u need chain to tire or frame to chain clearance.

I'm ditching the ZX10 swingarm and bought a ZX6 instead. Would be too much chopping to fit that big wide swingarm between the frame. And not very practical for mounting dual shocks. Also picked up a lower triple for $34. Rear wheel looks to be in great shape but the front is toast. I thought it just had damage in the bead but it's bent beyond use. Calipers and rotors seem fine though. I like those 6 spoke wheels so hopefully one turns up for a decent price on CL or Ebay.
