$2,800!!!!! I'm not the biggest fan of any 3-spoke mags for some reason. Any 7-spoke Enkei mags?

cbr 600 f4 wheels are close to the look and wider plus 17"

i've seen em painted and disked up and they look like they are kawi trick rims...see em on some nice home built Z racer bikes

this is the style ...with disks the spin on the spoke goes away

at one point though

money is gonna require money...

i mean

a trick build like you are doing is gonna be as good as the one crap part that stands out

You got all this great stuff and it should flow into each part yes?

the ones that pull it off well ...seems like that rim was was always on that bike...nothing else would fit there and look right etc

mtbspeedfreak wrote: Also, forgot to ask this earlier: does anyone make a 17" old school mag wheel? The standard Morris "mags" were 19/16 and the Enkei "mags" were 19/18 or 19/16. Enkei did make an 18/18 combination for Z1Rs and KZ Police bikes, I believe the police wheels were a tad wider.

though has to be added that there were no 17" back at the time, so that's going to look very non-period....

now this would be the right stuff used back at the time

If you want close to the period Yoshi rep look then Z1R 18's is the way to go BUT if you want something that COULD have been fitted at the time then go for 17" akront type alloy rims and spokes on kawasaki disc hubs, using a wider rim for modern rubber would be acceptable artistic licence.
17" rims have been around for years.

gee man, that's skewing reality....

And 175/250 Puch split 2str twin from the late forties had 16", what does this proof?

Have you seen any Norton Manx or Matchelss G50 racing with 16" (or 17" for that matter)?

18" was the rim size used till 16" came along around 82'-83', 17" in the context of sport bikes arrived only in 86' and historically is conencted to a tottaly different breed of bikes.

I could understand if there was a shortage of good 18" sport/racing rubber, but now with the latest Conti Road Attacks II 18" Radials, no one can complain really.

I gotta agree for my build, no 17's. Even if I could dig up a cast magnesium 17" that looks like a Morris mag, you'd be able to tell it was 17's. I'm already thinking about cornering clearance too, smaller diameter wheel means less clearance.

The price is steep, no doubt. But I got a quote of $800 to widen a stock Z1R rear wheel. I think those mags will come at the same time as that replica 4-4 exhaust system.

But I'll let you guys know before I purchase those two items to give you time to buy stock in the companies. ;)
