This thread is full of awesome. I'm looking to swap out my shaftie for a chain and would need to do a swingarm swap. I really love the look of the r1 swingarm after seeing this thread I think I may follow in your footsteps. Hope you don't mind
Also what brand of wheels are those? *drool* (edit - ALPINA TUBELESS SPOKED I think?)

Also, how was the 636 front end conversion? Did you need to have parts made?

thanks mate and no i dont mind, as camaroguy did, "Ill take it as a compliment"
the R1 swinger is easy, just need a few bushes made for the frame and a swingarm piviot bolt(a fuken long one 370mm)
The wheels are off a Ducati sport classic,i think they are made by Alpina as you mentioned, but fuk they are hard to get ur hands on
i hunted for over 6 months to find mine second hand!
and the ZX636 front end was also pretty easy, i got a set of 05 Z1000 triples(as they are nice and chunky and have bolt on rubber mounted risers) and they slid rite in!
im having the old Z1000st steering stem put into the new zed triples,
this would all be a lot cheaper if i was back home (NZ) and had access to a lathe and the rest of my tools!!!!
start collecting parts mate!

Yeah mate they have a bolt in pin system for the shaftie.
Picked up my seat today, I thought I was picking up a standard B1 seat, so you can imagine how fuken happy
I was when the guy pulled this off his top shelf.....
$35 bucks thanks for coming!
The foam is sweet so it just needs to be re covered.
I'm obviously doing a Eddie paint job, so should I replace the red portion of the seat with green or keep it all black?

score!
on the seat.
rough call on the green insert.
the green would be "in your face".
which,would be cool.![:cheer: :cheer:](/media/kunena/emoticons/10.png)
the black would be a little subdued.
which, with such a bold shape might not be a bad thing  .
i'd prolly "go green" myself.
with a big
silk screened onto each side of it.
let us know what you decide.
