All in all it was a good day Aaron and really enjoyed meeting you and yours! I too look forward to another meeting with a different finish.
We made it back safe and tired. 11 hrs and 340 miles round trip but worth it just being able to have common ground conversation over a good burger.
Here's a pic unloading here, I had a couple board members on call today to assist unloading.

Thats good stuff man.. Never fails does it? But I guess if things happened when convenient, then we wouldn't call them problems.. lol
ramtough_63 wrote: Well... I had to race back home and tell my version of this story before
Les gets home LMAO
I want to say thank you Patton for the info on the Petcock
I am gonna start at the beginning Got to town today Pulled the bike out wiped as
much of the mud off as I could . Pulled the vacum caps off the vent tubes on the
carb fired it up ran to the Auto parts store bought me a piece of vacum line
installed it in the parking lot took it for a cruise and Waalaahh!! My vacum actuated
petcock works flawlessly. This site is worth it's weight in gold!!
Les was gonna be in town today so we made arrangements to meet at a local resturaunt
to meet and axchange a few stories, and give him my triples for my front end swap.
its about 14 miles from my daughters house of really good riding roads, twists turns
etc.. so off we went me and my girl enjoying the ride out early gonna make a day of it
No work today now worries just a ride and get to meet one of the guys here that fabs
amazing stuff what could be better??
Bike ran flawlessly pulled into a convenience store about a mile from the resturaunt
come out bike doesnt turn over very fast and takes a couple revolutions to start,
normally it fires before you can get off the button. no biggy ride on up to the
resturaunt meet Les and They are wonderful have a great time talking about our builds
and showing off my attempt at a cool bike.
So moment of truth!! get on hit the button ans it doesn't hit on the first try!! well...
earlier it took 2 so hit the button and it turns over and over and over!!! Wont hit a lick!
No Biggy i'll push start it Nope!! Me being the brainiac I am didn't bring a plug
or a plug tool after I just changed the plugs knowing that my son inlaw and son had a
similar situation.
Sooo...

Thank god Les is the guy he is! He was in town picking some stuff up so we loaded the
bike on his trailer and he was kind enough to drive at least 14 miles out of his way
on his way back home
Backed it off the trailer and now nothing no power at all hit the button and nothing
What the Hell??
I don't think I have been this embarassed since my prom date stood me up in high school!
no I think I was more embarrased when I forgot to put my feet down lookin at the honeys
and fell over but not much!!
Who shows off their bike and it falls aprt while your eating a burger??
Sheez what a morning!!
check the Fuse and it was blown my high beam switch got pushed up while we were
loading it all I had was 2 30A when I figured it out so the headlight and main were both 30A
so the main blew Thank god for my new fuse panel.
The fuse panel had been bypassed when I bought the bike!
I pull a plug lay it on the head no spark check the gap and it's a full .035
just like I read up on .032-.035 close the gap a little hit it with my trusty KZR Zippo
for a minute pull another plug do the same install em and before I could get off the
button she fires! take it down the road she clears out and I regap the other 2 plugs
Les had advised me to close my gap on the Plugs Thanks man it was really nioe meeting
you guys and we owe you 2, so next time is on us!!
anyway it may be my imagination but after opening the vents the bike seems like it decels
better i noticed a little stumble 6000-6500rpm but then pulls like crazy through 8000
The stumble may have been insufficiant warm up and a cool day need to pull the plugs and
check them but I know I got more out of the Autolites
I know this is a copy of war and peace but needed to document my embarrassment of showing
my bike to one of the masters!!
Thanks again Les hope we got to do it again only without the truck and trailer thing!

got to work on some police car seats today a new biker apperal/accessory store is opening up not too far from the place I do the seats and was asked if I would be willing to do some custom harley seats
not sure I want to get into it or not.but might be a a good oppertunity to get the materials needed to make some custom KZ seats
I guess now I need to redo my seat the gap between the tail and seat has bothered me since I did it and there are a few flaws I have been to lazy to fix, but my reoutation for seats is getting around again (20 years ago I had a good rep for it)
The pic is of a cop car seat this thing was destroyed it is a phone pic and the sun is hitting the leanback making it look a different color but it is all the same and looked pretty good when I had the tech put it in.
If I have time I will get some shots of the seat we are working on for my sons bike tomorrow thought I snapped onr today but guess I missed it
The black closed cell foam is the ticket it sands like soft body filler you could just about sculpt anything out of it

I need some input from anyone who reads my thread
I like the rear mag, but I also like the 19" front wheel my thoughts are
new 19" front wheel new chrome spokes axle made to fit my USD front end custom fender bracket??
What do you think?
or go with Matching wheel??
you know how some things look good in your head and you spend the money to bring it to fruition and it doesnt quite match your vision
I'm stumped

rough call man.
my black z1r has a 17 inch rear(r1 wheel) and 19" front (kawi mag),i love the way it handles.
but i don't like to have my wheels mismatched
.
you see quite a few 70's/80's style choppers, and drag bikes that run a mag on back and a spoke on front and it looks good.
i think if you would completly polish your rear wheel that it would look good with a chrome spoked front wheel.
theres my .02 buddy.
but hell i could be a tard ,so take it for what it's worth  .

i like them both matched up. seems finished to me.
But in the end, its your bike, and your opinion that counts.
try to round up as many pics as u can and go with your gut.

Just get a rear hub and have one laced up to fit the back and match the front you want.
I believe it's M357 on here that done just that using parts from different models. After seeing his I'm wanting to do one with spokes and that was my plan.

I was digging his build too not sure about his seat but his bike is beautiful.
