I just ran across this thread and i have to say STOP!...When joining any two tubes (like a hardtail) you need to use "slugs" to join the two tubes together. I noticed that the lower rails of the hardtail come foward to the frame and they do not appear to be slugged. This is gonna get ya killed if the weld cracks and breaks...do your self a favor and do some home work by checking out some chopper sites (such as the chopperunderground or chopcult ect). There are dudes choppin and hardtailing bikes everyday and they know how to do it properly. So my advise is to seek some guideance first or you could (and probably will) get seriously hurt.

the chopper underground, now theres some high quality builds for ya! :P
normally slugging is down when butt welding 2 pieces of tubing end to end,his situation calls for gusseting and extra cross bracing to add rigidity to rear subframe B)

At this point don't much are if you are considering painting it florescent green ghost or putting tablecloth checkered whitewalls on it. Your frame, welding add fab skills and structural knowledge are gonna either make a nice bike or get you or someone else killed. If you are asking help from these guys show your welds and braces. It's not a time for shade tree fly by the seat of your pants engineering and fabrication. It just may save your life.

Take it from me cuz I found
If you leave it then somebody else is bound,
To find that treasure, that moment of pleasure,
When yours, it could have been.
