Made some threaded bungs for the rearsets and then drilled the frame, stuck them in and welded em in.

The shock/sub mount 80% finished.

Dzus Fastener plates to mount the fiberglass tail. I cut the seat portion of the tail off, its now about as big as a stock KZ750L tail. The battery tray is an old finned aluminum oil pan off an unknown Honda model.

Still a LONG way to go. I'm working on the seat pan now, working on the mounting points and cleaning up the sharp edges so the cover wont rip. Then high Density foam, shape it with an electric knife and a DA sander. Going to mimick a Corbin/Sargeant style seat.

Then I get to start on the swingarm, install the engine, carbs, exhaust, electrics, lighting, gauges, paint.....should be done in oh a year or two lol.

Guess I should change the name of the thread, nothin left of the 650 I started with is the Engine lol.

I love that u used an old oil pan to tidy things up under the tail. Great idea.

Got the seat mounted, used Dzus fasteners for it as well. Picked up some 3M spray adhesive, grabbed the electric knife from the kitchen and have the foam ready. Going to start putting the foam on today and get shaping it.

Used 1" thick high density foam, it was adhesive backed but I've had it forever and the adhesive dried out and didnt stick. Used 3M super77 spray adhesive to glue the foam down to the seat pan.

Borrowed my mothierinlaws electric knife to trim the foam ( dont think she knew what I was using it for lol ) and hand sanded the foam to shape with 180 grit sand paper. I was going to cover it myself, but I'm going to hand over the seat to a local guy that does a real nice job on seats. Covering it with the material Corbin usese, with GREEN piping etc.

Started mocking up the swingarm top brace/shock mount. Using aluminum plate to fab the rear sections and boxing them in, hole saw a few holes in it and insert aluminum tube to weld in...make them look a bit lighter I think. the spars are 1x2 aluminum rectangular tube. The forward section will be a combo of rec tube and plate. And the shock mount will be billet if I can get my friend to make one up on his mill for me.

This is just a quick mock up. The spars will not extend as far forward as this, going to cut/notch/bend them around to create the radius I need = ton of pissin around. But hopefully will look ok when done.
