Hi all.

Some minor speed bumps on final assembly, if you could wade in with your wisdom - much appreciated!

1) Engine Sprocket
Is this the securing washer that should be bent around the nut? Doesn't look like it...?

2) Engine Sprocket Casing
This one is from a Z750A and does fit the engine - BUT it could the frame so no way to fit with the engine in place. Is it the wrong one? What case will fit without removing the engine - as I can;t believe you have to do that to remove / refit these???

This one appears to have a kick in that corner to clear the frame. Form a 1982 750-H

3) Chain fouls the top of the swingarm.
Not a total shock but how much is too much? I calculated the biggest front and rear sprockets I could fit to give me as much clearance as possible. Does the standard Nylon strip really do the job? Or this a result of bad design...?

Also, some, if not all, of the KZ650 clutch covers have that kick in. Here's the cover on my 1977 KZ650-C1. Ed

If a nylon glide doesn't look like it will work you may want to consider an idler. The link below shows some examples. Ed

I'd use the right cover for the bike. No exterior clutch adjustment on that one ether.

could you get a picture of the washer off the bike and back a little to show the profile.

it should be a thin sheet metal type washer to fold over.

nylon/delrin or other slick plastic slides work really well.

dirt bikes use them to great advantage.

Yeah. I may have to go with a delrin slide on the top of my trailing arm, as well.
I don't think an idler is appropriate on the tension (top) side of the rear sprocket. Idlers are generally placed on the section of belt or chain that is not under the direct tension of the tractor force (bottom).

Thanks guys.

Engine Nut - The problem is when you fit the but to totally covers the lock washer, if that's what it is. That washer is also concave so it may be there to keep tension against the nut?

Engine Casing - Have bought the silver once pictured - pretty sure it will fit.

Chain / Swingarm - Thats annoying. Another hold up, thing to make and fit, swingers off etc etc. I'm not 100% happy with this swingarm so I'll get it going for now but replace it soon as I find a decent maker. I like these guys:

Not cheap.,,

Hey all.

It's taken a back seat what with life shit happening but it's so close I can taste it. Currently sitting in the kitchen as I got kicked out of the garage I was sharing and that also slowed things right down.
