simplest solution is instead of the oil level sensor in the sump cover

The project forges ahead, a bit yo yo on progress but deffo on the finishing straight.
Frame has been sent to powdercoaters and also for seat to be made. I've basically asked for a seat like this:
Also, all other parts for powder-coating, anodising and fork sliders for DLC or Nitriding have been stripped and sent off. Frame and swingarm also.
The engine is on track for a full rebuild / 810 pistons / GPZ cams at Debbens after a delay waiting for new clutch rubbers from the Aussies. But on its way now. I basically gave them a GPZ motor and another Z750 one to find 4 sets of rods, valves etc that all match up in weight and bearing life as a better starting point. It will also get new drive chains, bearings, shells etc etc - a proper nut and bolt build finished with stainless exhaust studs, ARP rods and stainless fasteners where possible - should look great when done.
Whilst I'm waiting, back to the computer for a small but very important detail - side panel badges! I was planning on going with a custom 'Z800' badge but I'm sure it will be very pricey and may turn out crap.
The side badges below are still available from a replica maker and are genuine designations.
Nice 750 Twin Cam emblem...
GPZ750 is obviously cool - and kind of correct as it's a GPZ motor
Or I thought this traditional Kawasaki racing flag looked pretty cool too...
There's loads more here:

Stay tuned.

Actually, Ratch has had very slow but steady progress. It seems that we may not see anything for 6 months at a time, and then there is a flurry of progress updates. Sounds to me like he is taking his time and doing it right.
However, I do agree that alot of these projects experience failure to launch.

all of my race bikes have required about 300 hours of work which i try to try and perform in no more than three-fouor months straight. that means a good 3 hours in the garage every day after work. spread that over one hour a day and progress becomes painfuly slow over a year or more...
pains me how many good bikes end up in pieces for spares.

I have been busy on the bike but whats slowing me down is not having time to pit into it. But I have set myself a deadline and that this Summer - so check it out. More to follow in the next few days as I get the whole thing built back up.
Okay guys. A bit of progress at last.
Engine build. Pistons in!
Almost there. Main cases Matt Black and covers in Gloss Black. Just needs to be boltd up with shiny Stainless stuff - it'll look mean, like its got Gold Teeth or something...
Got the frame and motor back now as well a bunch of bits and pieces anodised / painted ready for a sort of pre-final assembly.
Having issues with engine mounting as I have the incorrect mount kit so need to get on that. But heres where we are.
Frame with Motor in. Engine built by Debben with new Dyna-S, new Stator, manual tensioner, APE Head Rods, stainless case bolts and new starter. Happy with seat too though I may go with a rise in the rear for support under acceleration.
Flying Tiger did an awesome job on the paint. After the 3rd test we hit the nail on the head - its a Citoroen car colour called Hickory Brown and I love it. Its awesome because in the dark it looks like gloss black almost but when the light hits it, it comes to life.
Tank and panels on.
Tank badge is genuine new.
Side panel badges are replicas - but spot on.
Next up is to sort engine mounting and start on the loom. Then just exhaust to order as the final 'part' I need. I have an idea for the silencer tho - need to mock it up.
Am also having ANOTHER rear caliper bracket made as the last one was just too ugly. When thats back I can get the whole thing built up.
