That is sweet like the tail !! ![B) B)](/media/kunena/emoticons/1.png)
did you stay with the kz front rim ???
I like the 7 spoke kaw wheels just enough old school to be cool lol
Did anyone have to do anything to the 636 suspension other than bolt it on ??
I have seen on the ZX site that they like to tune the suspension to rider weight is this a step I shold look closer into or is it plug and play??

Testorossa, thanks for your reply, it seems to me like you took the right approach. I also really like the idea of going with 17" wheels for more tire technology & selection as well as doing the suspension mods. Doug

That is a nice project kalbo0099! Id like to know more details about the frame mods for the swingarm and what you did for the front wheel to fit the new fork.

"Did anyone have to do anything to the 636 suspension other than bolt it on ??
I have seen on the ZX site that they like to tune the suspension to rider weight is this a step I should look closer into or is it plug and play??"
Well there's a hole slew of requirements to get it to "Bolt On"....
As for "Plug & Play"... No such thing... Sure, install and ride but at what cost to your internal organs once you hit a bump or pulling out of a hard corner or slamming on the brakes etc.... :S Or the infamous high speed wobble/tank slapping effect thus poopy pants...
The tuning, not hard actually at all where easy to accomplish (the actual task of tweaking) but.... Takes time to dial in for desired operations based on your riding style, weight, hard/soft, rebound, dampening etc....
And there is a huge difference in suspension old to new technologies... For just cruising, nothing radical well OEM suspension will be just fine...
Same time, if you went through all the trouble/work in the front/swingarm mod approach, chances are your not just cruising are ya? ...

# thx
did you stay with the kz front rim ???
# yeah kept the kz 18 inch rims, looking into a 19inch kz750 front rim at the moment.
I like the 7 spoke kaw wheels just enough old school to be cool lol
# yeah i like notion of old and new and keep it a little nostalgic kinda.
Did anyone have to do anything to the 636 suspension other than bolt it on ??
# if your referring to 636 front forks, I had my neighbor nxt door machined a new neck pin to work with my kz frame.

# Thx, she's still a work in progres. Minor frame mod as far as mating the 636r swing arm to the kz frame. I'm a bit surprise it mated in with some minor grinding on the swingarm and enlarging the OD of the kz frame hole where the pin goes in for the swing arm. I guess it's because the add on parts are Kawasaki brands. Jus remember you need an offset sprocket to line up the rear sprocket to the main drive sprocket.

I kept the kz1000 front rim axle and had my neighbor machined some spacer and axle carrier to fit in the 636r forks wheel mount. Again, to my surprise the front brake rotors lined up with the zx636 brake caliper.
Please, do remember I'm still in the R&D phase. LOL! One has to realize when you get into this kind of task, i suggest you befriend a real good/great machinest. It makes a lot of difference.

Hey quick thought I would like to see the bottom shock mount on the 636 swing arm I have read the swing arm swap a few times but I dont believe there is a pic of the bottom mount after finished.
I am so excited I got the swing arm and brake and brake line
Why does it look like the swing arm only has one berring ?
and once I put the pipe in the pivot what do I do for berrings?
