this one is for the laughs dept...

i was starting to get tired and also starting to get close to hearing it run...and i put the ex half collars on with rubber bands flange in ..back wards...boy was i going nuts trying to get that pipe in the ex ports to go in.... :P

the new aluminum J collars from Z1 and new ex coppers were flawless and worth it...the pipe was a one time tighten and run perfect seal...the look is top notch and i will order these from Jeff again soon for the other bikes/ projects ...

took the blocks out...fought with the tarrozzi shifter side a 1/2 hr...it has to just right with the MKII sprocket cover to have the tiny room to click a gear and not hit...

adjusted the throw on the push rod and a bunch of little re-check stuff...put the 29's back on(sorry green bike  ) and used my wire touch old controls to start her up...nothing..KAPOW!!!!back fire....stood there ten minutes staring at the bike...re-checked the coils wires and found i had hooked the dyna wire wrong...switched...and bam......perfect ...the KERKER is so friggin deep and strong ....knarley bike....it sounds hard core mean right now...

i took the tank out and set it on the bike just to kinda prove to myself that this is gonna happen .... and it is gonna cover the small stuff i think is sooo fugly...the bike looks unreal...

the bike looked bad to the bone!!!!!!

i forgot to take a pic with the tank,.,,,but by 4-5 p,m it is going to be on here on a video running and complete....

today is just seat cover...body and details....

almost done...should have pics and a clip

i like those J header collars, i bet they weigh a lot less too. they are on my wish list.
i took put electrical tape around my shifter peg so it wouldn't scuff my boot, as a temp fix. then i replaced it with a smooth surfaced 1 i bought from a dif modle bike. i had, had mine made with the knurled texture , not realizing what it was going to do to my boot. u could have the knurl trimmed off on a lathe.

the aluminum J exhaust collars from Z1 ent.com were 100% easier to see that the collars were seating right and were a 5 minutes and done deal also.....i was concerned that they would draw attention away from the lines but on the MKII and the squared look they sit as if they belong...

the 900 and the round look may differ

side note...i have these left over for now

i have these with pods in great shape...looking to use them on my J-tack day project...but i would be interested in trading them and adding cash for some 29mm smoothies...they just dont line up with the petcock location on my 900 or MKII ,other than that they are pretty carbs

yeah i know...i had put the tank away, wrapped up safe, and realized i had not snapped any pics...oh well better than handling the tank again and dinging it or something.....and just to ad to my timeline stress...repeat...i have to be at the lodge friday morning ready to ride a 100+ and do some laps at the track....and the bike is not done yet!!! it is starting to drizzle here now pretty good...woke up to blackened wet driveway and dripping tarps over the benches...oh well..eat some mex food and watch a race...and wait on the sun...

what is that a patch of blue in the sky...ohhhhhhh the tension builds...watch me snap a bolt off today or ding/scratch something....i am moving extra careful from here forward :pinch: ....all i need is a nice handlebar ding to piss me off...

when i had the vm33's on my kz, i had to take the stock petcock apart and reassemble it with the lever going in the opposite direction. worked perfect.
