Big Sur California 1 south...17 yr old nephew from back east never been on a bike before... ...he is sold on em ...we did 100 miles and plenty of stops and pics....perfect overcast day...low wind and killer water and fall contrasts....he did great!!!!...never once leaned funny...and he had never been on a bike before....this kid kid will be out here for stanford next yr and we are gonna teach him slow how to ride ......great day...

were sitting there talking and i look down the cliffs...75 ft feet away and down is a falcon sitting on a ledge.....

later...for old metzlers these tires were no joke...he rode south in a car with his dad....and i rode back north solo...got into a groove and just fast blasted ahead of cars to hit some sweepers...few corners then wait to snap past another group.....got into a few tight decreasing corners and overcooked em...that old ME33 lazer had me trail braking leaned over and never walked out on me...i got to where i almost smacked a couple of econo cars trail braking into hairpins head on....the bike needs soooooo much fine tuning..and the steering neck bearings and forks res-set....still...you cant help your self some days...avons on the bench....no time to mess with em yet and a kerker......still those old(how many yrs since METZ made the me33 lazer tires????)really were something ...peace

Very nice pictures. God, I need a change of pace soon. I could pay my house off and take a sabbatical leave of absence to get a masters in performance combined with maybe a type 75 and come back fresh with a new perspective. Working in CPS has burned out. I can't endure many more years of crappy weather and heckling from admin at work. If they would just leave well enough the hell alone and let us do our jobs instead of giving us so much busy work to make our teaching time more difficult. Whatever. I can deal with it because I get paid fairly well, but if the day comes to it I wouldn't hesitate to take another step and towards living life in a new place and enjoying the weather year round. How many more years are we gonna be here on this planet you know? Time is a luxury that is spending away fast.

we carved a dozen pumpkins of different sizes yesterday,,,,and i was just saying to my gal 20 minutes ago how nice the weather in central/north coast california is in fall......it is just like the first weeks of fall back eastern ways....but then it just stays like that,no worse,,,,,rains a few months on it's way out jan-march...then it's 5 months of spring again....we have 5 months of spring -2 of summer -and then 5 months of fall......at least fly out for a few weeks during the worst of winter and bring the new family....X-mas teaching break would be a good time.......steaks and sunsets ....warm up and fly back restored?.......

i hear you on the time span we get to live this lesson....

i started thinking weird little thoughts...like....who cares if the shoes cost 25 more than the other pair...what shoes Do You Want!!!!

i mean in a few clicks it did not matter in the end if my brother had the shoes he wanted or not...or wheter he kept that favorite pocket knife on his dresser....we go in a flash and then who cares if you saved 50% on the things you wanted to go and do in this life....

just go and do the things you want...tell the ones that matter that they are important...play with the dog...take wrong turns and keep going to see where they go.....order the super sized meal....go slow then go fast....laugh.......it is all a joke anyway...
