OK, I'm back - beat the 2 months between posts too! Got the motor back and in the frame again - lots to do now, but it sure is nice to see my baby almost back togther.

Jack, did you strip the powder from the head and then repaint it? it looks shiny...

The paint on the head is at least 10 years old- just very clean. The rocker cover is new,the last one got torn up by flying debris, and painted it with DupliColor engine enamel.

Speaking of old, this thread's so old Plummen has a new popcorn cartoon...

Jack, do you mind if I ask what the inscription on the rear fender reads? I'll be glad to see you get this project back on the strip. You have to show us some videos when you get it running. Are you shooting for the same sort of times that you were getting out of the last motor before it came apart?

Testa, the lettering on the tailpiece is thanks to my wife Beth and a list of sponsors. There's also a memorial sticker for our old friend Kevin Blackmore who died in 2003-we have a memorial Q16 in his honour every year at our home track's bike only weekend event.

J model style countersprocket from the '80 model, my other MKll motors have had the Z1/KZ style



Murray Spyder pipe





MSD controls- 2 step/ rev limit, lauch RPM control and digital timer to turn off engine kill on 1/2 shift ( auto trans is 1/2 only), and turn back on for rest of the gear changes.



4 Dyna 1.5 ohm coils for dual plug head
