who the hell can. i'm not a big fan of ti anyway seen too many dirt bike cylinder heads broken because of ti valves.and a fair amount of drag motors hurt because of not changing the valves out quick enough.

Sorry to hijack, but does the low weight of Ti valvetrains help out throughout the rev-range or mainly just at low revs?

I was under the impression TI valves are light weight and as such they "float" at a higher rpm than steel valves.

How often do Ti valves need to be changed on a drag motor? Is there any reason why they could not be run on a street motor?

Sorry to jump on the hijack!

The lighter the valve train the less spring pressure u can use to reduce float. or keep the same spring pressure and increase the rpm at witch they will float.
less pressure = less friction and stress.
This can help to increase the maximum lift potential as well.

True but 42-43 mm.stainless valves will pound the living sh*t outta the seats- trust me. A lot of dragracers use ti on the intake side only and stainless on ex. I've had very good luck with ti valves as long as they don't contact anything other than the seat and the shim lol.

i'm sorry guy's it's just that i've seen so many blown up in the last few years and it always seems the main culpret was the ti valves i've seen them snap right off at the keeper groove seen them pull the heads of all, manor of ugliness. just cant ever see my self using them. at least not with stock seats.

bummer, in the process of modernizing my 650 I was always hoping to run Ti valves (I was casually looking for a source of reasonable priced blanks, as I was quoted $1600 for 8 custom valves). I know the r6's run them from the factory. However the r6 uses valves that have a much smaller head so I would imagine a lot less force is placed on the valve stem.
