Okey! I have a suggestion, but no Col. Mustard. Mystery part is the Valve keeper, which stripped out, allowing piston to drive valve though shim and bucket, while simultaneously breaking cam brackets, cam, and bending valve. These clearance problems created an impedus to rotation in the upper valve train, which snapped the cam chain master pin.

Plummen, you told me it was a 53! No wonder it broke.

Not a valve keeper,it's way too big to be that. Keep on guessing,I don't know what it is either...

Mark, sorry I missed getting to meet you, did meet Rob -rstnick- on Saturday when I noticed the KZR patch on his jacket when he came by our booth. We were trolling for 2010 $$$ to run Pollard's fueler, nothing so far but I did buy a #5 bearing washer for my new crank from Dan while there so the weekend wasn't a total loss lol.

Wow! a #5 bearing crank washer. Now thats something u dont run across every day.
The kzr patch is a good idea , for that sort of recognition. Who knows how many times u may have run into a kz nut and never knew it. B)

No new pics til my wife finds the camera but have been making progress. Picked up a virgin set of MKll cases that are already braced, big tranny bolts, main cap support milled w/plate.The top case just needs to be opened a hair more for the 1500cc. barrels and should be done this week. Also bought a mint '84 GPZ crank, MKll centrepin and Falicon thrust bearing so I can send the crank out to get trued & welded.

Now that I have my set there's a cheap way to get Ti valves that a couple of sharp friends shared with me. I bought 8 used Del West smallblock Chev Ti valves today on ebay for $24.00 shipped. Probably Nascar parts pulled after short duty cycle, 7 mm. stems long enough to cut for new keeper grooves & lots of material to allow for valve face sizes of up to 43mm.+ Compare that to about $100-$120 each installed from most shops, even with machining etc.required it's a bargain.
