Tim, if you ever saw me on a protree, you'd know why I stick with full tree bracket racing...retainers are Performance titanium, new ones on the way.Along with 8 Ti valves etc. etc.

David, good guess but no winner on the mystery bit but it's not a piece of a valve. And ya,I'm in London- where you at?

Hey Jack, I have been buying stuff for my bike from a guy in Kitchener lately, I ahve seen a half dozen kz's that he has at home, and I think he has more in Milton. The past few years he has been racing a blue gsx1000. I wish I knew his last name, but I only know that his name is Ralph...you don't happen to know him do you?

Ya I've known Ralphy since the old days at St.Thomas or Cayuga in the 80's. I'll pm ya with his info. after I ask him if it's cool. BTW,the bikes in Milton aren't his but I know who you mean-a KZ guru and he has an enviable collection of bikes/parts;the head on my street MKll came from his pile.

Hi Jack I am in Burlington and I know Ralph also. Ralph is a first class guy who is always interested in helping you and is fair with his prices! That MarkII you have is nice for sure! I am currently restoring a '74 Z1 that is rough but pretty complete. I like keeping with the '73-'80 stuff as so much is common. Good luck with the rebuild.By the way, I was getting my cylinder head tanked by a shop in Hamilton and happened to bring a bucket with me and the "guru" there was surprised when he saw it saying it looked familiar. Turns out it is identical to a Hyundai Tiberon bucket ('99-'03 I think) except that it needs a 30mm. shim instead of the std. 29mm. I guess in a pinch you could use them but would need to get specific shims from the dealer.
Keep in touch. David

holy, Ralph is a popular guy I guess! I will agree that he is a really nice guy, as friendly as they get, and he really loves his bikes!

BTW, was my guess of cam bearing insert right?

Mark, Mike Law has been a friend since mid 80's. Raceworks Canada built my chassis and I was out there yesterday afternoon as a matter of fact. Great guy.

Gord Bush did the crank that's in the bike now and the new one will be on his bench shortly. Another long term good guy.

Glad everybody likes Ralph so well, talked with him last night and he's still got lots of Z1/KZ stuff.Like 10 motors etc.

My opinion is worth exactly what you pay for it, but have no fears of doing biz with any of these 3 imho.

I found Ralph through a Kijiji ad, does this Gord Bush have a website? I saved the Raceworks Canada website, thanks!

You guys are plumb out of my league, but that looks like a mangled valve seat from here. Sure is nice to hear good things about good people. There's not enough of those and we all wish we knew more of them.
