Well it has started...I found some time to start Penelope's Z1.
started out as a '75 Z1 900
and with some luck it will be turned into a hybrid of old and new ...basically a resto mod.
it will have
1075 breathing through a set of 29's
under cut tranny
gsxr front and rear (mono shock)
reworked electrics
'74 bodywork just cause. B)

If some one needs plate cut for bracing I can do that as well...
I used .125" 4130 for the frame in the pics.

no not a hacksaw for sure....but I built my first one with not a whole lot more than a 5" grinder and a tig torch...It can be done.
I just have more options now....I just got the mill and I am still learning how to use it...I think that it is probably be a lifetime of learning ...LOL

practice practice practice with that set up you will be able to do pretty much anythng you will ever want or need to do just keep the metal coming right by the way i could use a set of those frame reinforcing plates how much do you need so i can save my pennies. and are you using chrome moly for the cross braces as well.

What's wrong with a hacksaw and files?...

But I don't blame him for taken the easier, cleaner, faster way.

Looks good so far, Irish.

Thanks folks...
yes everything is 4130 cromoly ....the plates are 1/8th...but I would use a lighter guage in the future for the rear ones....1/8th is really hard to bend around the back bone...I think 16 guage would do nicely.
I will see what I paid for the 4130 palte and post a price for the plates.

Plummen ...that thing is braced as much as mcbrides top fuel bike LOL...nice work
