I was talking to a member here named riverroad, he got me to thinking, if i take my mac header and bring it to an exhaust shop, i wonder if they could bend a pipe to slide onto the collector to make my mac into a yoshi replica>

What the hey, I just had the same idea and was playin' around with the one on my Honda. Watch out though, that MAC can and baffle has some funny stuff going on(at least with the Honda). What's weird is that the jetting was very close with the MAC muffler installed, pulled muffler and ran straight header and the idle and mid circuits were better, main was a little lean. Then I pulled the baffle and put the empty can back on, everything was all off, bike ran like crap. (but sounded awsome!) Then I hacked about half the baffle away and tried that, jetting still way off. So I'm thinkin' a slight extension might keep my jetting in the ballpark, clean up the raspy open header sound, and look vaguely like a yosh if bent properly. I know you guys could care less about a Honda, but I just got excited about Oldkaw's similar idea. I'm also not sure if MAC's Kawi system is designed similar to their Honda.

lol, i had thought about it a wile ago, i would have to come up with a baffle of sorts cause i hate riding it with an open header, well that a lie ........... when i go to car shows i yank out the baffle and ride it wide open, i love when i cruise over the bridge and everyone at the car show looks at me cause they could here me coming for the last minute or two.

Yup, thats why I started messin'. (Damn Harley ridin' friends...Honda not loud enough) That MAC is too quiet with the baffle, open header? -pretty darn loud, with the can and no baffle? -really freakin loud but what a cool tone. I just can't understand why the jetting was closer with the open header as opposed to the empty can or with half the baffle. Anybody able to expain this. That MAC baffle must have been doin' one serious something.

so i had to take all of that off again. The way the bike looks now is a long way from the sorry shape it was in in mid ohio, huh roy?

At least you won't have to beat it with a hammer!!

Yeah its coming together fairly nicely. No more beating the old girl with a hammer that for god dang sure . Im at a stand still on what color i want to do the frame in, i was thinking kawi green for the frame and swing arm, and flat black for the body work. Any imput? Roy, the old 900 will be out in ohio in 2011 for sure.

I painted a bike that combo and it was butt ugly. The green frame didn't work for me.

You can't beat black. Roy
