You ask and shall receive.. This is a very short (and crappy) clip from last weekend. Zero tuning just basic setup.. O2 controller installed now, so I can work on the tuning. More to come. SOON..

Now we're talking. Sounds smooth even without a tune I cant wait to hear your first impressions with after tuning and driving it. EFI Analytics has new dashboards for the android. Makes a promising dash for our bikes on a small table or phone. Check it out if you havent seen this

Ok, so im digging this up again!!

Have any of you guys got pics or info of what toothed wheels & pickup you have used (to success)? I'm trying to figure out what to use & this is what's hindering me so far.

My idea of the N/A engine went out the window & i've since rebuilt a 750 Turbo engine from the bottom up, it's now 810cc & will be going into a fairly heavily modified Z650 chassis. Instead of using the 30 year old ECU i've decided to go with the Microsquirt, 3 bar map sensor, High Imp injectors, 1100TB's & wideband o2 (i take it the innovative LC1 is favourite here??). I would like the Boost & o2 reading on a single 52mm gauge & had thought of THIS setup, any thoughts or suggestions?

Well, :P
In one case I have a toothed wheel (21-1) that is nothing more than a circle with notches cut in it, that's part of a kit for a ZX11 that uses the stock ZX11/ZZR1200/Suzuki GSXR pickup. Guy at Poway Cycle in California put a kit together after converting his own bike to EFI with MegaSquirt, and I ended up with one (imagine that). I have read of some using chain sprockets.

If you use a cam sensor you can run sequential injection. Just get a cam sensor off most anything, and drill a hole in the cam cover to mount it over a cam lobe. Gets a strong signal that way.

If you want to do a little more work, get the throttle bodies off a GSXR1000 and respace them.

Somebody listed the MS Extra link to throttle body sizes, I have more info that I should post there.

ZX12R throttle bodies are 46mm (I have 3)
ZX10R 04-05 are 43mm (1)
FJ1300 are 41mm (1)
Yamaha 02 600 has 38mm that are CV throttle bodies (1) I don't know anyone else that uses CV TBs
GSXR750 2000 are 38mm (1)
GSXR1000 38mm (I think) (1)
GPz750 Turbo (1)
81-82 GPz1100 (2) Don't ask.

And none of the above will fit a ZX11/ZZR1200 without at least respacing. :

Other stuff includes the various sensors, Engine Coolant Temp (cylinder head temp for air cooled motors), Intake Air Temp, Manifold Absolute Pressure, Throttle Body Position Sensor, wire to hook them all together, and a bucket of motivation.

The MS2 will let you do sequential injection and ignition with add in boards, MS3 will let you do individual cylinder trim on both injectors and ignition (Coil On Plug, or one coil per plug).

Here's an idea for you (I'm thinking of doing it).
Use an MS3 and the app that Tobin makes for the Android, and tune ech individual cylinder for max power.

That app uses the accelerometer built into most android devices, to measure the rate of acceleration, which combined with weight, will calculate hp. And it logs that along with the other stuff.

I just got my cylinder block and pistons for the ZX12 back from Millinium yesterday (Bore, re-plate and hone). 86mm bore, 60mm stroke, 1394cc 13.5:1 compression. I replaced everything but the case, block, head, and transmission. I'm shooting for 220+ mph in the standing mile.

EDIT:

Most bike injectors since 2000 are high impedance.

I have an LC-1 and a LM2.

Anything worth doing is worth over doing :P

Other than the fact that the ECU is 30 years old, it would be the quickest, easiest route to getting the bike running and can definitely work well with your engine. An adjustable pressure regulator is all that's required.

On the flip side the MS setup will add a level of cool and self gratitude once it's dialed in. :)

Larry, to be honest I don't know if the ECU will definitely work to get the bike running, I bought it all in bits & I mean BITS!!

Besides that I have to trust 30 year old connections & then chop up a brand new Power commander 5 to adjust the fueling.

Steve, how are things with ya?, good to get talking to you again. I probably have a little more knowledge thab the last time I was talking to you! lol. I messaged you ages ago on the Twins forum to tell you I had bought a turbo engine

I'll stick a few pics up later of how I got the engine & how it is now

Saved you from having to tear it down

Going through it completely is the best way, especially for a motor that's getting a turbo bolted on. Looks good !

Anyone seen the MS3? It does everything but get up and dance

(Based on full featured MS3+MS3X+V3.57)
Speed-density, alpha-n or MAF for fuelling calculations
16x16 fuel tables in 0.1% steps with true interpolation and movable rows/columns
16x16 spark tables in 0.1 degree steps with true interpolation and movable rows/columns
Wall-wetting transient fuel control for better driveability
On board datalogging to SDcard (max 333Hz sample rate)
Tuning by serial or built-in USB-serial port.
8 channels sequential fuel (hi-z injectors or low-z with external resistors)
2 additional fuel channels (hi-z or low-z)
8 channels sequential spark (logic level output)
6 channels mid current output for small solenoids or relays
2 'spare' conditioned 0-5V analogue inputs (+2 more raw)
Two wideband oxygen sensor input (external controller required)
(Up to eight widebands supported via external data capture)
GM-style stepper idle control
2 and 3 wire PWM idle control
Closed loop idle control
Closed loop mixture control - ideally with wideband
Closed loop boost control
Various boost control systems (gear, time, speed based)
Two stage variable nitrous control
2 step type launch control
CAN communications to interconnect other Megasquirt products e.g. transmission controller
Supports external data capture boards (e.g. for external EGT boards)
EGT data support (with external amplifier)
Staged injection
Dual fuel (e.g. LPG)
Table switching, (mainly for dual fuel use)
Water/Meth injection
Individual cylinder injector trim
Injector phase timing
Individual cylinder spark trim
Support for numerous OEM trigger wheel patterns.
Magnetic (VR), Hall, Opto crank sensor input
Magnetic (VR), Hall, Opto cam sensor input

I may use one on the ZX12 if I have to run 8 injectors. Just think about it, 1 O2 sensor, 1 coil on plug, and one injector, per cylinder tuning. That means tuning each cylinder individually for max power. Can it get any better?? :cheer:

Seen that Steve, looks an awesone piece of kit!! $1200 or something aint it?

I'll try to grasp the microsquirt idea first, if i get my head around it something like that may replace it on the Turbo bike & i'll swich the MicroSQ stuff to the next project, that'll be running injection too.

I think it's around $450 in kit form,
