Sorry to hear that, but glad your injuries are recoverable. Get well soon.

So, I have a few pics from just before the crash, and then some aftermath. The motor and pipes are undamaged and many other small pieces could be salvaged. Front end and frame is likely destroyed. Looks to me like a complete end and flip threw me. Glad to be alive. I'd take $500 for the whole lot, plus any shipping, Any input appreciated. R

If no one want's the whole bike I might be interested in the exhaust, carbs and a few other parts. I'd take the whole drive train if i knew it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg for shipping. I'm guessing the tail rack, sissy bar and luggage are toast.

The front end is too roasted for me to see any faults. Tires are fine. But really I took these pics cane and braces in hand So I could not look really well. Also not sure that the lightened front end without the vetter and the new shield did cause it. With no shield it was rock steady. Either way glad to be breathing. Looks to me like a full end over end flip. Bike was 160 ft off road and I was 130ft from the bike. I must have gone airborne into the ditch landing head shoulder arm back first. Lucky. Happy I will heal. R

Wow looks like you had a pretty big crash, you didn't just lay it down, you were thrown... :pinch: A fall from height and crash at speed is nasty double whammy... glad you are up walking and talking. You are lucky, if it was a high-side typically you get flipped up off the bike and land on your head, and then if your really unlucky after you come to stop in the dirt your motorcycle runs you over again.... ask me how I know that one?

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

Yes very lucky. I spoke with the responding deputy today at work. He said the bike did not strike anything but the ground and that I was thrown about 160feet across gravel and dirt. He was concerned that i had injured my brain because he found me seriously injured and combative. Luckily I am still only as smart as I ever was. Very grateful. R

Glad you're recovering. When you feel up to it, I'd like to know if the rear end was locked up or what made it go into a death wobble. Might prevent it happening to someone else in the future. No hurry, take your time and get well first.

Rear end is not locket up. Rear axle spins fine. Coasts free in neutral and goes into 1st. This is looking more and more like being absent the vetter and a bad windshield selection caused lightening of the front end. No obvious complications with the front wheel. Could possibly have been a bad front wheel bearing?

Lotsa of good kz1000 st and interchangeable parts too. R.
