Maybe we can open up the west coast and points East for the relay.

I think we need to put together a SW rally like they did in CO. When the bike is running I will start a post.

My preference would be CO but I'd be up for anything in the four corner states.

Good to know. I don't want to clutter up my project thread discussing it here. I will start a rally thread tonight. As long as it's within an 8-10 hour ride from Phoenix, AZ I'm down. Temp and possible weather needs to be considered.

Need feed back on two items.

1. Scored a set of 110° Webcams and am wondering if I should install them now or wait. Currently I have Andrews 1X cams installed. 1075 Wiseco 10:1.25 pistons, Heavier duty springs that will handle performance cams. Mikuni RS36 flat slide carbs.

Adrews 1X cam Specs

Second, due to my choice of location for the oil cooler I may need to add a fan this summer. I would like to control it with a thermostat switch. The ones I am finding turn on @ 180° and off @ 165°. That seems a bit cold for the bike, great for a cage. What temperature range should I be looking for?

Let me try this again,

As we all know cam bearings are expensive. If I have to replace bearings to do a swap after the engine has run, I would rather do it now. It also appears that the Web Cams are not drop ins. Will I need adjustable timing gears?

Adrews 1X cam Specs

I think I'd wait on the cams Jon. You could go to APE to compare lift and to see if you have to make room for them. I'll e-mail my PDF version of the Andrews specs. They may or may not be "drop in". I don't think you'll need a fan. It should dissipate enough heat as is.

110's are supposed to be drop ins but I've seen 2 such setups now with spit shims. 1 was a properly done setup, other, can't say with certainty but the 1st one, made me decide it's not worth the gamble, go shim under for peace of mind. it's more difficult to do a maintenance job on the lash but don't let that sway you away from them. good street cams

Wholly ghosts! I have not seen you forever Les. So Shim under? How am I supposed to convert it? Is there a kit? I have heard of this before but have never found the detailed bits to get it done.

650 cups and retainers will work. APE sells a kit. I would wait and ride the piss out of it first. :woohoo:
