If anyone wants to modify an ltd/MKII fender I will be happy to give more detailed instructions.

Mark, What is the diameter of your 1200 cush drive?

The 5/8 offset 630 sprocket just arrived from Pingle. I have not opened it yet and may just send it back. I may go 530 after all. I may also change to a ZRX1200 rear wheel also.

Oustanding!!!!

Please let me know how the 520 thing works out. 520 will be the chain I convert to eventually, but I have already purchased 630 stuff.

That bike looks very good....keep it going!!

I have a zrx12 rear hub hear if u need any measurements just holler.
have u bought a front sprocket yet? i would try to make do with a 1/2" offset if u can. i went with a 5/8" so i could get more tire to chain clearance. but, in doing so i ended up with a non o ring chain for a thinner chain profile. I should have clearanced the frame more or went with a 1/2" offset.
It is a tight fit all around with the zxr arm. I often wonder, why guys that use other types of swingarms dont have as much trouble? i wonder if it has anything to do with the steering neck? i took great pains to line up the front and rear rims. in doing so it force the rear rim to the left, causing fit issues.in the end, i can see that the rear rim is offset to the left , when veiwed from behind. even though the rear rim is in line with the front rim.So maybe it is luck of the draw, depending on the steering stem alignment???

I found it very difficult to get all the clearance I wanted. I felt I needed the 5/8” to get it. The down side with a 5/8” is that if u are planning on launching it at the track, u should have a support plate(so I have heard). This helps prevent flexing and possible damage to the counter shaft. It seems u can get away with out the plate when only going with a ½” offset.
some guys actually cut the frame out and insert a channel for maximum clearance.and dont forget to clearance the footpegs, lower, inner bolt boss.

Having been through this process myself, I have to say it is very good advice. I would go for the narrowist chain you can get away with.

I believe it is indeed the luck of the draw on the rear wheel looking centered. Had I gone with a 520 or 530 chain I would not have had to clearance the frame for the chain.

I am thinking about making my own 530 offset front sprocket.
It looks like a Hayabusa will fit.

do it!
quicker and cheaper than trying to buy one and you get what you want.
my advice is to use a torch and cut the splines out and the teeth off(accordingly).that seems to soften them enough to cut with a carbide lathe tool.i smoked(litteraly)the first carbide tool i ran up against a sprocket.after you torch the teeth out and the splines out it will machine,it is still pretty hard(blue chips ;-})but will machine.
i think that plummen said a can of mortons salt in 5 gals of water would be a better quench than the used motor oil i used, but i don't have any complaints about the wear on mine.hth

I am scheming as hard as I can right now. HMMMM. I bought a Busa sprocket today.
1. cut the outer edge off the old one.
2. cut 95% through the new sprocket in order to remove the middle.
3. put both sprockets on the countershaft to center them.
4. attach the two together, (glue ?)
5. weld the heck out of the back side.
6. cut the middle out.
7. weld the heck out of the front.

I plan to put a spacer in the back to get the offset I need.
I am only looking for a 1/2 inch.
This one is a 17 530, I found a 40 for the rear, I doubt it is small enough for low cruise r.p.m.s.

Vortex.

Then I will get a chain and get the cush drive ready for machining. I will have to have it turned like Mark did with his. I am scheming again trying to figure out how to do this on my carport. I am still a broke ass and now I am moving to the next town.$hit. I really need to go riding!
