I am running 630 16 35 with 17" rims. this will give u near stock ratios. if u look into the kz sprockets, u will find that 1 of them will fit the rear zrx rim.thats what i am using. i just dont know wich year my sprocket came from(77?). if u look at the JT sprocket cat, and find the zrx size (bolt spaceing and center hole size) u can match it to the kz sprocket.B) 1 tooth at the front = 2.5 at the rear.
If u have a kz sprocket now , just try it on your zxr rim, it may be good like mine was.Maybe all the kz's are the same?B)

That is very useful information.
My 1980 had the enkei mags on it and The sprocket is small and has a hole 1/3 the size of the ZRX. FYI

hey leon are you gonna have enough room for a 19 tooth front it might run a tad close. with a 630 chain a 16 tooth is about max if i'm not mistaken what the max is with a 520 i'd only be guessing.

i can't answer that question yet.i do have the 18 and 19 toothers setting on the bench two feet from my z1r.i did not have time to pull the cover and check(i was busy machining aluminum for roynor).my buddy that ordered them for me is a roadracer and he said they looked like rear sprockets  .

I have a spare aluminum 37 tooth sprocket if that is of any use to u. it will fit, but i felt it was too many teeth for me.

Now I understand the gearing question!!

Sprocket Specialties.

I'll get the tooth count and a couple photos in a day or two.

i always like to give myself what i call kink room [don't get any ideas now omr and plummen] i try to have enough room between the front of the sprocket and chain combo and between the cases that if you get a bad kink in a link it wont take out your cases when it goes around the sprocket so i error to the roomy side of things i find it is easier to just get a smaller rear sprocket instead.

www.sprocketspecialists.com/SprocketOptimizer2.aspx

The second link is a gearing calculator, you may find it helpfulB)

Ok that should ive you somethin to chew on. I cyphered all this once before, to get just a little lower gearing than the old stock KZ set-up.

Yeah! This is all very exciting. Thanks guys!I should be able to order sprockets and a chain in a week or two.
I'm sure we can figure out what is needed. I am am pleased with the gearing with the old wheel. I would like to go slightly higher if possible.
I got the gas for the welder today. Time to make a steering stop and mount the rear master cylinder.

When u say, u would like to go slightly higher,on the gearing, do u mean u want more torque, or less?
