Well that sucks on a lot of levels.
Go to a church where the pastor rides. Ours does track days with me; can you believe that! He's fought in "Tough Man" contests, also. He's a good guy. Sorry you tangled with some that weren't so good.

not trying to bash on church or churchs.everything is circular, the size of the circle varies, sometimes if a circle is big enough it can look like a straightline(but it is still a circle, just ask columbus) .i don't exactly know why she done that but i am thankful for what i have, and if what they did was truely wrong then they will have to answer for that.it could just be payback for when i was younger and done something i shouldn't have:unsure: and thought that i got away with it.who knows?i live my life trying to do everything as right as i can and believe that it will all work out.we just need to understand that we all have to answer for our own actions, eventually.although i did lose a lot of material stuff,i still have some good projects a wonderful life and, family and the health to keep everything moving forward.sometimes i even get to buy some cool stuff.while i am on the subject of"my projects",i received my extended chain for my swingarm conversion on my z1r.i laid out of work today and plan to spend the time working on my bike,i'll post some pics later.
badkaw, what do you think about rstnick's fairing mount?

the next picture is a closeup of the aformentioned homebuilt countershaft sprocket.

more pics after more progress.

Well, from the photos I can't really tell, but it looks like it's mounted in the area that I would choose for my application. But, I'm thinking of two square plates (or one long one) welded onto the front of the neck; a hole drilled in the top plate and one in the bottom plate, then I can bolt my bracket to the plate(s), this way I can modify the bracket or change brackets and take them off to do it. From his picture it looks like maybe a curved plate is welded to the neck and then round tubes come out, and then it triangulates into two tubes. My idea triangulates the bracket immediately at the neck b/c that will (most likely) be the only area to form a bracket mount. With rstnick's full fairing, he has several mounting places and brackets to offer structural support from other places. I LOVE his fairing and hope to score one myself some day. Also, rstnick's entire bike is an extremely well done bike all the way around...see if he can shoot you the links to the posts on the work he's done on it (like the rear-sets, 18" front whell conversion [don't know if he's done with that part, yet] and more).
In short: he's got a very similar mount to my idea; and it ovbiously works.

Looks good!

That swing is nice, i think it have the old style with the bike, and at the same time looks modern.
I like that sprocket, did you use an old one behind, or did you make a new shim out of something else?

Thats machining work :P

thanks, roy.i used the old 630 sprocket that was on my bike already, and bought a new 520 sprocket then cut the splines outta one(520) and the teeth off the other(630) made a spacer and welded them up and quenched them in old oil for the black coating and some hardness.
i actually got it together and rode it yesterday:woohoo: , after working on it in my spare time this weekend.everything worked out well,i will post some pics soon.

thanks for the compliment roy.i love these old bikes and changing them up is fun,but yes i am somewhat of a junk tycoon, good junk tho not just trash:laugh: .i am not a cat person but when you live in the country and have horses and a barn a good cat can be very good to have around.she also keeps the birds from crapping on everything, cause she kills em .yes a little more test riding then i will pull the swinger and address a couple little clearance issues then paint it.i don't wont it to get to rusty before i paint it.i do want to make sure everything is jivin tho.a 200mm tire takes up a bunch of room inside the back of the frame, especially when you only extend it two inches.

Wow, this is really nice. Can't wait to see the black arm / black wheel! Nice work.

I live on a farm, too. You're right about the cat; also doesn't hurt to keep the wife and kids happy, too...and unfortunately, the furry little b*st*rds grow on you. I tried to get Solumnruss to take one of 'em home the other day...no luck there...he's smarter than I thought he was... :)

got the swinger test hopped.put about 300 miles on it,added some bracing to satisfy a nagging in my head.it wasn't flexing but i felt it needed a little more.painted it and plan to roll it until i get a wild hair to do something else to it.
