the side with the wide bearing was already deep enough to slide the narrow bearing in far enough to mill what i needed to from the end of the pivot tube,so i only had to bore one bearing hole deeper.
i machined the same amount from each side,to narrow it to fit the frame.
i machine the bushings to adapt the kz pivot bolt to the r6 center bushing with an integrated dust cap.

similar to a top hat.

Ok mine is similar to yours. My inside bearing seat on the skinny side is 1" deep. My fat side is 1 5/8" deep.

My skinny bearing is 3/4". My fat bearing is 1 5/32. Roughly.

Comparing against the microfiche it looks like I am missing a dust cap (Item 8) and the WASHER PLATE (Item 43) but I have the rest.

cool,
so you will only need to bore the one side deeper and use a skinny bearing in place of the wide one.
then you can mill the right amount off each side and you will be in  .

what are you going to do about your pivot bolt?

adapt the kz bolt to the arm?

or,adapt the zx bolt to the frame?

Ya i talked to my machinest buddy and he was comfortable with the work. As far as the bolt I'm graciously going to use your idea, he can make that too. I originally was thinking I had to find new bearings but your idea is better. i just will have to account for the extra width the mushroom will add.

My kz frame is cherry, single owner garage kept and powder coated. There is no way I'm messing with it.

Didn't know they made this.. but it's so sexy.

Here it is without the fairing.

No viper fairing. (I think it is ass).

I was thinking of this one.

IMHO the Maier GPz handlebar-mount fairing, the version molded for a round headlight would be a perfect cosmetic fit along with its Kaw lineage. The Dunstall looks a little too old and roundy for my taste. Such a beauty that bike is! The original builder of my 83 GPz dreamed of having a Bimota chassis to put its engine in, DFI and all.

Wow! How loud is it with that config? Do you have a cover for the belt? I did a test run without the cover once, bad idea almost sucked in the jeans.. With mine and the stock foot pegs its a bit uncomfortable as your right leg touches the SC cover.

Let the games begin..

Also note close ups of the wolf header. That's a pretty big pipe diameter.

More progress.

Ps. The swingarm size almost was too big. It's like a 1/4 space on both sides. Almost. :P

I think I might need both ends bored out for the bearings though.
