friggin super cool...lotta work...dont tell me it was real tough stripping and blasting...cause i got a 73 on a back burner...nice job.....tell her to get that laundry basket away from our bike!!!!

thanks. it wasn't really that hard, but it WAS a lot more time consuming than I expected. However the priming part of it went quicker than I thought. I was concerned that getting all those different angles and shapes covered was going to be really a pain, but it wasn't so bad. That's good since I still have to do it again with paint!

OK I did something on it... Organized the shop and took off the oil pan for no particular reason... I guess because it was an easy way to feel like I did something useful :laugh: I also blasted it.

what do you all think I should check before taking engine apart? I already did compression test and it's a good running motor. I'm gonna put clay in plug hole to check valve to piston clearance. Anything else?

At this point I think the engine will stay pretty stock, but I might shave the cylinder block a bit to raise compression. Then degree the stock cams, freshen up the head, rings, etc. Basically get the most I can from a relatively stock motor.
