So i don´t have to waste my money on a PMC cam cain tensioner.
Thanks baldy for your confirmation, so i have save a lot of Money i can invest for more usefull parts.

Some more work done. Plumbed in the oil cooler, installed carbs. I bought the carbs from Wired George awhile ago when he was selling his O Bored VM26's. They are now 30mm but look stock. They have been sitting in a box on my shelf for years , nice to finally bolt them onto a bike.

The bike came with a brand new Vance & Hines pipe. I had the header ceramic coated in silver and the slipon in satin black.

The carb venturi is bored out to 30 mm? That's an interesting mod. Air flow in the venturi would be slower. Pressure in the venturi would be higher than stock carbs. Is the head ported?

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Stock 26 or 28's bored to 30mm perform better than 29 smoothies and are easier to set up.
They will make a difference even on a stock motor just like going up from 26 to 28.
It's a fairly simple job if you have an accurate lathe.
Here's a pic of some I recently did.
The top set are stock 26's and the bottom set are bored out.

Thanks zed1015. Without measuring one I assume the slide still fully covers the venturi when closed?

I would guess that they perform better than stock at higher rpm's. Would you set the float level the same or maybe raise it up a bit to compensate for lower pressure differential?

It's a performance solution that still looks stock without having to pony up for crazy expensive 29mm smoothbores that are more complicated and harder to tune. I've installed a bunch of these bored carbs back in the day and they all improved overall performance. And yes the head is ported along with bigger high comp pistons and more aggressive cams.

Bottom of the slide bore needs the slide seat re-cutting to allow the slide to fully close.
Needle needs lifting 1.5mm for it to sit in the correct position in the needle jet.
Float height stays stock.
Carbs perform better througout the rev range and obviously flow more at the top end.
