Not to worry, United Package Shredders might find it under a table, or in the back of their truck someday. eBay is pretty relentless on making sure the stuff gets delivered. I assume you are doing the proper procedures to get your part.

I'm going to have to make brackets for the frame mounts, but I put a bolt through the package area on my tail. It's a 73 Z1 tail cowl.

from what I can tell from the pics, that looks like it fits pretty good! What seat in that? I wanted to get the Z1 seat and cowl for a 1977-80 Kz1000B.

It's a Z1 replica seat from Z1E and a 73 Z1 cowl.
It's a bit further back than it would be on a earlier frame due to frame width.
It didn't need to but I cut the front tabs on the cowl as they were unnecessary and moved it as far forward as possible.
I also used my factory frame tabe as a mount at the rearmost section of the frame hoop, although I did cut off one of the CHP mounts.
I like how it sits at the tailight and am satisfied with the overall look.

How do you rate the seat quality? Is the seat pan plastic or metal? Do the hinges have the mounting holes?

None of the pics on Z1E show the underside, and the mounting "kits" are almost half of the cost of the seat, when my original seat has the OEM hinges and latch already on it.

The tail makes the bike look complete. The Z1E seat I have came with the hinges and latch.

Wow, those pics from October 1 2015 look like you've got some miles on that seat. You really took a LOT of pics that day, Steve.
Actually YOU posted more pics of the seat mounting than any of the info I could find on Z1E OR ebay for that matter. It does look like a metal seat pan in your pics.


Annnnnd.. that's the stuff it doesn't say in the ads. and the accessory "kit" that comes up while looking at the seat ad, makes it sound like I >need< the extra 40 bucks worth of hardware. It does not list the seat specifically to fit the 1980 Kz1000B4, but does say it "also fits" blah, blah.. I was going to order this seat now, but there are other confusing things in the ad.. it says free shipping, then says does not qualify for free shipping. Now, WTF is it?

Fuk all that, I need to go to work, somebody has to support this extravagant lifestyle. I can't believe it is supposed to drop 6-9" of snow on us tomorrow nite during rush hour, my truck needs new back tires, and I'm messing with this crap. I have my priorities correct as usual. :woohoo:

Can't set the time/date on this cheap cam. I'd ask about the hardware or I wouldn't buy it. We're having a mini heat wave but the cold will move in soon. Glad I don't have to deal with the white stuff.

It's a metal pan. It seems to be of reasonable quality, although the seat cover is a standard vinyl replacement and not heavy duty.
The hinges and latch are included and already installed on the pan.

Just saw this on FB. Wants $3100 or a nice 4X4 quad.

That looks well worth the asking price. It actually looks similar to a build I saw on here, if I recall.
