The Shinko 712s are OK... they're what came on my 79 650SR from the previous owner.

I don't like them as much as say Pirelli Route 66s, but they seem OK so far.

You're right about how smooth these old Kawis are.

Oh, and congrats on getting her up and running again!

Amen to that!!
You can't deny or ignore a KZ

And thanks for all the compliments

With the Shinkos it will be neat to test them out , I was going to go for the Shinko 230's but my budget suggested go with the least expensive. I have had nothing but good experiences so far with the Shinkos I have used but I am not the rider who pushes the envelope at all anymore…a few triple digit runs now and again but nothing like canyon carving, I like to take corners with steady increasing speed and the Shinko's I have run so far have been stable and predicable.
The battery too was el cheapO found it on Battery shark . com Gel battey 210 CCA 33 bucks shipped to my door. If it lasts over a year I will be satisfied if it lasts a few I will be delighted!

I believe its called "Oppositional Defiance Disorder"

I went AGM, Its a little more change but it don't leak. but it doesn't matter while it rains 3 days straight. Ive just gotten plates on a 78 1000 Im referbing that has sat for 10 yrs. Cant fix it if I cant ride it and see which way to go with it. Youre definitely doing things right! nice bike.
