Wiers, awesome job so far. Looking good. I don't have any technical advise to offer but a question. I'm slowly gathering parts to restore a '76A4. I really like the look of your seat. Do you know what model and year it's from or is it an aftermarket?

I don't know, it came with the bike but I am sure it is aftermarket.
The looks are great but it is not that soft to sit on.

Latest update this year :)



I don't have an oven so I had to improvise.

Bought myself a "Hugger"






Needs some grinding to make it fit and also smaller.

Brake and clutch lines installed :laugh:
The loop in the front is a little bit to long but I want the option of installing the larger Suzuki fender.







I put old seals and pistons on them but new pads.
Fresh oil and a lot of bleeding but now I have a working item on the bake :woohoo:

And for now, Merry X-mass.

Some good progress there Eric. The hugger is probably a good idea for a bike in Holland.
Looking at the clutch hose,I remember reading somewhere that the original cable took a lot of abuse running down between the exhausts. The heat would get to it and dry out any lubrication. Is that going to be a problem for the hydraulic hose? Im thinking of running mine under the tank and down past the carbs.

I think a hugger saves me from a lot off dirt and water in the elec department.

The heat can be a problem but I take Sanctuary as my example and if it is good enough for them than it is probably works for me.
If you have the space and make custom cables it will eliminate the problem for sure

Checked my front brakes today and showed small signs of leaking/sweating :-( hope it is only the excess of brake fluid I put on all the seals and pistons.
I wiped it off and hope it will be okey for now, otherwise I have to take them apart again and do them over with new seals.

Question...


It is a plastic main jet with nr 137.5 on it.
I have rebuild kit with 2 extra jets with nrs 102.5 and 105 on it.
According to a file I have standard should be 107.5R
Are these just numbers or sizes? and what is the best to start with?
The 2 extra I got are metal ones.

Sound like sizes to me.
I'm not sure which carbs you have, not familiar with the big KZs, but Mikuni carb jets sizes do go up in 2.5 increments.

I have these.







As far as I know the engine is stock and therefore find it strange that the main jet is several sizes larger than the std one.

As long as the engine will start next month it will be OK, because i intent to bring it to a specialist for further tuning.
