The Big Block GPz1400 Fuel Injected Monstrosity

Last summer this bike was an '83 GPz1100 that I crashed pretty badly up at my local racetrack. After junking the bent frame, wheels, demolished gas tank the only usable thing I had left of that bike was an engine.
So I bought an '81 GPz frame and around the same time a good friend of mine was selling a 2001 gsxr 1000. I bought the bike and stripped the suspension off of it and modified it to fit the GPz frame. Found a tank from a KZ and tail from a Z1 and within no time I have a rolling chassis,
Bought a 1394 MTC big block with 10.5:1 pistons, modified the 01 throttle bodies to fit the GPZ head, and sent the crank out for welding, balancing, truing, and shot peening.
Microsquirt is on its way, Dyna ARC-2 also on its way, soon ill have a fuel injected GPz1400. Here's a few pics.
Looks like a beater and thats probably how its going to stay for a while. Don't care how it looks so long as it makes a ton of power and is as mental as I think its going to be.

One of the big hurdles in any big block project is dealing with the heat from not having space in between the cylinder liners for air to pass through.
As I do want this to be a daily driver and have potential for sitting in rush hour traffic I'm running a dual oil cooler setup. There will be one at the front that will be fed from the factory oil cooler outlet on the case. Then run it in series to the mini earls cooler at the back all with -10AN fittings and hose. From the ear cooler it will tee off to a top end cooler and back into the case to feed the crank. This will be a dry block setup as well.
Dont have the front cooler or the lines done yet. Currently working on cleaning an polishing the exhaust ports and combustion chambers. Not so much for flow purposes but mostly to keep the carbon from forming. Engines will run cooler if there is no carbon buildup in the cylinder head.
With a proper tune, good oil coolers, and good oil flow through the head im hoping this thing will be able to take some stop-and-go traffic.

Pretty trick project you've got going on. The chassis is coming out really nice. The head and exhaust ports are going to carbon over no matter how much you shine them up. Better to spend the time opening up the intake port throats to 34.5mm and the exhaust throats to 29mm. Take a 60 and push the seat out on the valve face nearer the margin. Those things will let it breath better and help get heat out of the motor in a realistic way. Cosmetics don't do anything but make the eye happy.... JMO
