1981 KZ550A2 Update

Yes I tried a new tap, it was okay for about 5 weeks, then I found it would not turn off, took it off and opened it up and found the rubber valve had melted !

I have several gas stations that have ethanol free gas. That's where I will be filling up! R

Forget the 550 for now. Start bottling and shipping that real gas. You'll make millions.

Actually, a coworker of mine who used to work on prepping yachts for storage/useage, told me you can get ethanol free gas at some/most marinas. He also said the gas itself was cheaper since it's not for road use. (don't get busted, though.)

I am sure this is slightly off topic, but on the past page the shot of the bike with the seat on it... MAN oh MAN love love love that seat! Obviously new with how it looks its either a whole new seat or a new seat cover but you did a great job and love how it looks, nice job!

Thanks it is a cover. Purchased off eBay co 28$. However this bike has been sold. I am hunting for a litre model KZ to fix up next. Thank you all for your help. I'll be back. R

Yep. It looks done. I want to fix up.a.1000st and I do not need 3 bikes. I had no.principle in it as it was free to me. R
