You said it was a Z1F frame number. How low was the number? By the way you got a good deal. The KZ900's go up every day.

old man rock...
reason for a non runner was the carbs needed cleaning. I installed my newly rebuilt 26mm from my 77 and fire right up. everything work....evening drove down the street.

Alright...I'm at this point...bike in peices and started cleaning .

And this last pic....I found a roll of wire under the tail piece and got me thinking last owner probably had some kind of lighting on the bike.

What? People do not give the '76 900 the respect it deserves. They are a rare bike and definitely not a candidate for (yet, ANOTHER) cafe or bobber.

The bike is sweet and not an issue (as you found out) being a non runner IMO. As long as the engine turns over and no funny noises it doesn't take much to get these running. Pretty much like you said, a new battery and clean carb does the trick.

Keeping an eye on progress, thanks for saving another one!

Time for a up date ...since last time ....I've welded the holes on the frame...but now have to replace the rear peg mounts because they were dored out to fit after market heavy chrome pegs.
By mid next all parts needing powder coat will be getting done.
Also got engine on engine stand to give it a good cleaning and replace all gaskets and oil seal with the exception of the block and head gaskets.
