maybe chnge the title of the thread to 76 kz to keep the flies off and not sound dumb...1976kz900-a4...

had a tad thicker tubing on the frame and swingarm...stronger than a Z1 but folks want the Z1 for collecting so the 2year run 'KZ' 900 is the redhead stepbrother...A z1 though for all real world purpose and even stronger.....in euro the called em Z900 not KZ...Kz was a WWII bad place to be so they dropped the K over seas

dont lose or break the tab on that black tool pouch on the right side cover area..it mounts the tabs for the sidecovers which on 76-77 are different than Z1..some ltd 1000 side covers have the same tabs...the kz900 has a set of covers that need to be right tabs to work...that little plastic tool pouch is hard to find sometimes...

it is missing the right side battery cover.
My plan is to take it apart and restore as many original pieces..get use pieces as needed and new pieces when use not available.
as for the motor take apart....all new gaskets and new rings.
about 2 months ago i bout parts lot box that came with the rear chrome fender...side covers and tail piece plus other little thing.

Keep in mind side covers for 76 kz900 are a one year only item changed for 77 kz. I attached a photo of correct 76 covers. note: there is no tab on bottom of the right cover
