The truth is, I was peer pressured by one (or 2) Z1R owners into replicating the factory Z1R dash out of composite. Aprearantly, this part is NLA, and is nearly impossible to find used; even then with damage or repairs of varying quality. Even then people think they're worth their weight in gold  I'm just trying to do my part to help the cause I should start a new thread for this part, as there are some added complexities that I have not covered in my other threads.

Made a notch in the frame to clear the turbo, I will add bracing to compensate.

Relax Leon, I'm not taking a break from the mold. I snap a pic here and there, but I just spent 45 minutes cutting up fiberglass cloth while waiting for the tooling coat to tack up enough. I will get the primary mold made today, but I won't be able to demold it until tomorrow. Then I have to make molds of the ear mounts, the indicator light box and the ignition lock boss. Then I can clean up the oem piece and send it back to Les. No more pics for a few hours while I work, OK Leon?

Now Leon, before you get your skirt in a ruffle, I had to mix up some more resin, and I snapped this interlaminate pic. There's about 8 layers of 4oz and about 3 layers of 7.5oz fiberglass cloth. I'd use chopped strand mat as well, but epoxy resin does not disolve the binders holding the strands together, so it's a bitch to get it to lay down
Another handfull of layers of the 7.5oz cloth on the wings and around the flange, and I'll set it out in the sun to cure it a bit faster.
On a side note, I'm using the same resin to make this mold as I used to make my prototype tank (loooong pot life, but VERY thick), and WOW does this crap suck to whet out the cloth!!! I'm very suprised that first tank turned out as well as it did :S
