what would be the difference if the shock was tilted a few degrees forward instead of vertical

that's what I was wondering. seems awfully vertical.

the words of Larry........"Based on the first pic I commented on, it didn't show the bottom bracket was made yet. If this photo is your bike, then you've done it so you can disregard the drawing.

When I positioned the shock, I wanted the shock to be sitting as perfectly vertical as I could get it. At the same time I wanted the dog leg to be positioned so the bottom of it was parallel with the floor.

In order to do that, I made the top mount first. Then the bottom mount as in the sketch. Result...shock centered in swingarm hole and sitting vertical with the linkage not cocked."

:woohoo: Good Guess Joe!

Don't forget your side covers need to mount too. Scope that out now. Looks like the top shock mount tube might cause a problem with that. You might need to modify a bit :)

Weld the inside of those tabs too. And, it would't hurt to tie them together with a plate.

What's the top mount look like?

heres a side pic.... the top mount is not finished yet.

The thing that concerns me, based on this picture is rear tire to frame clearance.

The rear travel is 5.5" as I recall. How the bike sits unladen is one thing. How it sits fully assembled is another matter. You're going to loose travel and it looks tight already.

Here's mine with only empty cases, save the output shaft.

Looks like a lot of clearance in the rear but I had a problem with my license plate and tire contacting at first.

Whatever.... scope out those couple of things I pointed out Joe and see what / if you need to address them.... Carry On and DO NOT PUT BS34's on that bike when you're done or I'll drive to Florida and set it on fire :woohoo:

Larry, remember i am short, so im trying to keep it as low as i can. but nothings written in stone. i can still play with ride height if needed. so if i have 6" from tire to frame i should be ok?

also, not familar with the bs34....why do you say dont put them on?:S

also Larry, when i unbolt my bottom mount that goes to the motor mount tube, and move the dog leg further away i get more clearence. i would just have to make the 2 mount tabs longer. lemme know...Joe
