As for paint, there isn't any as it would add weight
It's staying bare alloy and gets a wipe over with a rag and wd40 every once in a while.
Have you considered filling the tires with helium to reduce unsprung weight? Ed
Of course I have !
Along with using un-leaded petrol, not being so heavy on the throttle and always riding with the lights on

Pretty sure the grey finish on the calipers is anno too so not wanting to risk taking any of that off i knocked up a five sided tool to unscrew the gold stars
Nothing too fancy just attacked a bit of scrap ally with the angle grinder till it fitted something like
They came out much easier than expected and are only sealed with an 'o' ring and no thread lock.
One done and three more to go.
Any chance you want to rent out that little tool? I'm interested in doing the exact same thing!

Hi. All the Photobucket photos were blocked and they want £400 a year to enable third party hosting..
Essentially it's a ransom.
I recently managed to individually download all 2000 photos from Photobucket on to my PC and replace all the pics on the Z1owners club GB site project threads with permanent attachments.
Not a quick or easy job that took weeks to complete.
There is an free App that allows blocked Photobucket pics to be seen but it only works with Google Chrome or Firefox -

How much do you need to extend the forks by ? as it only possible to get 30mm to 35mm by extending the damper assembly depending on how much unused stanction there is above the bush..
The easiest way is an extension with a female thread at one end and male thread at the other that simply screws on the bottom of the damper rod and then refit the allen bolt in the bottom of the fork leg..
