i think your aluminum tail keeps the heritage of the machine and is more appropriate for this machine.

I have allways loved the look of the KR`s B) but with the photoshoped photo it does look very out of scale. You would need a real one in place to get the full picture as im sure the real part is physically smaller ;)

Yes! the one on the KR looks a lot sharper.
I would need to get that exact scale/look for it to work.
Won't go forkng out for one until the bike is finished and see how it looks as is with some paint on.

I agree with Puffin, everything on your bike is made by you - stick with that.....by the way your bike looks like it's doing the ton standing still....very nice stance.

Little bit more progress.
oil pump, sump and clutch cover on so it's now all oil tight.

Chain on and gear linkage extended to fit with some 10mm hex ally bar

Oil cooler mounting finalised with hooks for retaining strap , just needs a coat of paint to finish

Made a start on trimming the XJR front mudguard.

But for one reason or another i wasn't happy with it

Decided to go back to plan A and have a crack at whittling some of that alloy road sign
Guesstimated the shape i needed , cut it out and beat the crap out of it for two days until i had ....

....THIS

The last time i did this it produced a copper ash tray in second year metalwork

Several hours (and blisters :( ) later a very long session with the files and course paper produced a smooth surface ready for the final finish

Not bad eh?

Think this looks much better than the xjr one ?.
Just need to figure out the mounts now.
